Part 28

The cold and sharp metal that pierced my skin and yet, I couldn't make a sound. I turned around to see a face that shouldn't be here and I forgot about the pain inflicted by the stabbing because of the shock. She dragged me into the alleyway my and I couldn't move because while her other hand is stabbing me, the other dagger is on my neck.

"N-Noriko..." I muttered

"Do you like my little surprise, Y/N?" The voice sent a chill down my spine. Why...didn't Saiki notice. Why is he not looking here. What is going on?.

"After doing some research, I found a neutralizer for your boyfriends telepathy and that his limit is 200 meters. Who would've thought someone has some data about him. The security of the data was a bit annoying to crack but I managed Although that was the only thing I got."

How does she know...How did she even get access to computers... who helped her... I remembered she was a computer science major but I didn't expect her to be that good. She was a smart woman who could be anything she wants but chose to be a homewrecker is that smart?

She finally pulled the knife out of me and I pressed on the wound. Tight. I tried to call out for Kusuo with my voice, hoping it would reach him.

"Somebody help!" I yelled out. Kusuo... please

"The dagger was coated with the venom of blue dart frog." She spoke and I suddenly felt another inflicting pain.

"The first few minutes, you'll feel pain. And within 5-10 min which is oretty much soon, you'll feel paralyzed. Then 10-20 min, it will attack you respiratory system... you know the rest you're a smart kid" Any longer than that, I would die

"And how do you know I won't be rescued before I die?"

"This is a deadly venom you'll die before he finds you"

"You know you are lousy at this. Why take a venom that takes that long to kill a person and don't even get me started on hiding. This place is literally easy to access and you don't know Kusuo that well. He'll be here any second." I smirked at her even though I've lost feeling in some parts of my body, so Kusuo... please come here soon.

In an instant, Kusuo appeared in front of us with fury in his eyes. It wasn't the usual dull eyes, but eyes blazing with a fury that cut through the air like a knife. Scarier than what I've seen before. Behind him followed Chiyo and Aiura who was running.

"How can Saiki run so fast?" Chiyo panted as she had finally caught up, but that soon turned into concern and fear as she saw my hands bloody.

"See, what did I tell you?" I barely muttered as I fell to my knees. I could feel my sweat dripping and my vision fading in and out... What happens now?

Saiki's POV

She's gone. I can't find her anywhere, but I can feel her absence. She's gone, and the death mark is still on her. I can't teleport again, and I can't read her mind.

"Where is she? What if she's dead? What if she's hurt? What if—"

"Snap out of it, Kusuo! Calm down and think of another way to find her. Stressing out will just blur your mind, making you unable to think straight," Aiura snapped. As much as it irked me, she was right. I needed to calm down and find her. This isn't like me; I don't usually lose my cool like this.

I focused and used clairvoyance to search for her.

Come on, come on, Y/N. Please be safe.

"Somebody help!" I heard her yell, but I couldn't read her thoughts. I located her and saw that she was hurt. I considered teleporting, but the crowd was too big, and Chiyo was here. Instead, I ran towards her direction, and all I could think at that moment was not a pleasing thought.

I want to kill whoever harmed her.

                             

Y/N POV

I saw Aiura hit the nape of Chiyo's neck who had passed out before I even did. I couldn't see what's happening to Noriko behind me but Kusuo never left his angry gaze at her. Aiura then ran next to me.

"Y/N are you okay?" She worriedly cried, her hand pressing hard on my wound. I then heard a metal clank on the ground followed by a choking noise. I turned around to see Noriko floating in the hair while her hand is trying to removed something invisible wrapped around her neck.

"Kusuo! Don't." I yelled out but he didn't listen. "Death is just doing her a favor. Make her live and rot in her cell until she goes mad. That's a worse punishment than death" I tried convincing him and it worked. He then looked at me, his gaze softening walking closer towards me. His hand gave my body a gentle touch then suddenly, my body felt energized and the pain that slowly went numb disappeared. His pair of warm arms wrapped around and he released a breath that he hadn't realized he's been holding.

"Her death mark is gone" Aiura cried in relief as she also hugged me after Kusuo let me go.

After a while, we went to the streets where the police has easy access to and have arrested Noriko again and Kusuo made sure she will never ever escape prison. It turned out, the data she hacked was Kusuo's brother's data. How she got access to computer was a bribe with one of the guards who is now fired and who helped her wasn't entirely a help. Toritsuka somehow ended up in the same prison as her and she overheard him speaking to a ghost. Toritsuka is free now btw. He was imprisoned for being a pervert but got out somehow. Don't ask how. Nothing is serious in this world.

Chiyo wondered what happened but we came up with a story that she was just dreaming while we were walking on the way home, and she ended up believing. Thankfully.

When me and Kusuo got home, Kusuo stayed in my room and sat there reading his manga, while here I am sprawled on my bed, my head hanging on the bedside.

"Uhm Kusuo, it's late. Aren't you going back to your room?" I asked him.

"Not until I am assured that, that woman won't come back." He said not leaving his sight from the book.

"But you made sure she won't get out already. You even used mind control, gave her a curse, manipulated her mind to relive her worst memory. I'm pretty sure she's suffering enough" He then gently shut his book off and finally looked at me. He walked closer and kneeled as he reached me

"When I saw you barely alive, I didn't I could ever feel a feeling of fear. I've never felt so scared in my life and the thought of losing you made my mind go astray. I want to see you all the time to make sure, you're not hurt and that you won't disappear from me again. Look how much you changed me. You even made me say cheesy lines"

"Kusuo, I will be careful next time and I assure you, with that much punishment you planted on her, she won't ever hurt anyone else. So please get some rest as well Kusuo."

"I'll wait til you fall asleep"

I didn't argue back as I felt exhaustion throughout my whole body. I let out a yawn and fixed my head to the pillow.

And just like that, I had fallen asleep with his presence giving me a sense of comfort.
