Chapter 1: Electric Touch

Osha Aniseya had thought she already knows how the world turns and spins, making a ripple to each and every human beings. Sure, she had her own ups and downs as a pre-school teacher and it is incomparable to her sister's career choice of being a nurse just like the rest of their friends who are mostly in the medical field.

Upon their arrival in this unknown country to her, it was definitely hot but after several hours of travel from Ninoy Aquino International Airport, they have finally reached Baguio City, the Summer Capital of Philippines. Mae had told her that they will not be staying there for too long because the city is not a part of the target towns for the medical mission.

They were picked up at the airport by four vans, spacious enough to accomodate them. Three of Mae's colleagues who are also nurses are actually from Cordillera. Osha knows them as Madugay, Samuel, and Reiko. Madugay, the tall and black belter in taekwondo nurse is from Bontoc, Mountain Province. Samuel, the cheerful, handsome, and tall nurse is from Mankayan, Benguet. And, Reiko, the shy type one with a man bun is from Kabayan, Benguet.

From what Osha could remember, this Medical Mission have started two years ago. It was Samuel who invited Mae, Jeckie and Yord to come with them for an adventure in Philippines, in his hometown Mankayan.

It was there that the friend group of nurses have come to know that Samuel was a son of an influential politician in their province and it was of coincidence that the Municipal Hospital in Mankayan was having a medical mission. Samuel's father was still the Mayor on that year and have invited his son and his friends if they wanted to join the medical mission even for just a day. Mae, Jecki, Yord, Madugay, and Reiko immediately jumped in and helped.

This have started a spark among the friend group to form and start a private club, a non-profit organization that extends help not only in Samuel's hometown but also to Madugay's and Reiko's. From that 2 week tour two years ago, they came back again the following year and went to their first Medical Mission in Reiko's hometown Kabayan. It was not only about extending and providing free healthcare but also for a cause for the children now, giving them donations that consists of educational learning materials, a simple games and activities. With the help of Samuel's father and influence, it became easier for them to organize a program for the Medical Mission and coordinating them with the Town's Health and Local Government Units.

Mae had also shared this Medical Mission that they have formed to her Sol and Indara and her parents were immediately glad to help them out.

And this year, the Medical Mission is set on Madugay's hometown that is Bontoc, Mountain Province.

The team consisted of Mae, Jecki, Yord, Madugay, Samuel, Reiko, Dr. Sol, Dr. Indara. Nurse Madugay have already contacted the Local Authorities to help them organize and execute the Medical Mission. She oriented the group that they will be going to two villages for this mission. First, a medical mission will be held in the town's center for three days, then a day in the village where her ancestors have come from and been living in.

As if the gods were on their favor, Indara contacted her long time best friend to join them for the medical mission which the other older woman have happily, and excitedly agreed on. Indara and Sol have already been in the Philippines. They started visiting the country more often way before they have met and adopted the twins because of their close friends who are living in none other than the city of Baguio.

After checking in on the hotel that they will be staying for the meantime, the team headed to Camp John Hay Golf club and meet acquaintances and sponsors through the medical mission. In other words, they will meet with Samuel's parents and with Indara's best friends and play golf.

Osha was amazed by the geographical structure of the city, the vibrant colors, and the aesthetics of both modern and old architecture of buildings as they drive along the city.
