Trigger warning; descrition of a panic attack, Cyrus (yes that's a warning in itself), detailed description of abuse, gore, mentions of death, mentions of poison, small mention of domestic voilence, guns, mentions of suicide, death, explosions, just a lot of anxiety and overuse of the word violence lmfao.
"Spencer oh my G-"
"We will be with him soon. We drank the poison together."
Ivy's words were cut short at what Cyrus had just said, her and Spencer's eyes wide as they looked at each other and then at the rest of the people in the chruch. Ivy's heart was thumping in her chest, a panic attack bubbling inside her.
We're losing them.
We're losing so many people.
And there's nothing we can do.
"Mothers... Fathers... Children. Though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we fear no evil. For thou are with us." Cyrus quoted the 22 psalm, making Ivy's stomach turn. She couldn't afford a panic attack now; not on her first undercover case and certainly not in front of Cyrus.
"And God will wipe the tears from their eyes and there will no more death nor sorrow nor crying." Cyrus continued, his eyes almost lazer focused on Jessica.
"And there will be no more pain for all the former things that passed away."
Ivy's hands begun to shake, her mouth watering and breathing became a task rather than a manual thing. They had to act and they had to act now.
"What do we do?" Ivy asked, panic and slight pain in her voice, as her chest had started to hurt because of the rising panic attack. "Nothing." Spencer mumbled, his eyes locked on Cyrus, following him aorund with his eyes as if he was starting to realise something.
Nothing? What the fuck does he mean 'nothing'?
"We have to do something; these people just took poison." And now the panic was more evident in her vice and actions, her hands obviously shaking as she subtly pointed to a couple people close to them. But Spencer looked calm. Like he knew what was happening. "He just told them they did. I think he's bluffing."
"Why do you think that?" Ivy mumbled, turning to look at Spencer, feeling a little relieved that an antire genius thought he was bluffing; it was comforting in some odd way and it calmed Ivy's approaching panic attack.
"After he told them about the poison, he waited for them to start to react. Then he nodded to Cole and he started writing; look." Ivy moved her eyes from the potential mass suicide victims onto Cole and Cyrus, Spencer's words being proven right. The man was indeed writing while Cyrus nodded subtly to a few people, his eye catching Ivy's, making her look back at Spencer immediately.
"They're scanning the audience for reactions."
Oh thank God.
Ironic.
"They're writing the down the names of people that are crying." Ivy noted, her trembling coming to a halt, her lungs no longer trying to suffocate her and her lips stopping their own slight tremble.
"It's a loyalty list." Spencer mumbled, not taking his eyes off the two men who were writing down every name they could, Cyrus' eyes flickering to Ivy every now and then. Now he either had a crush on her or he knew what was up and I can confidently tell you it wasn't the first one.
"So he knows who will follow him to the end..."
After a few moments of Ivy and Spencer looking around and Cyrus and Cole writing down names, Cyrus stepped up, finally looking at the people he just 'poisoned' with somewhat of a disgusted look on his face, making Ivy's stomach clench for what seemed to be the sixteenth time this past hour or so.
