Hana woke up to a loud crash coming from the front room. She blinked and slowly got out of bed.
"Dad?" She called out.
Silence. She sighed and quickly got ready for the day. It had been a few weeks since she began hero work for the association and had yet to run into her dad. They were both always busy. It was getting close to her birthday, so her and her dad had made a plan to hang out on the weekend, just the two of them.
When she entered the front room she found him staring at a hole in the ground. A that she knew that his clock had been.
"What happened?" Hana asked, yawning.
Saitama sighed. "My alarm clock fell."
Hana's eyes widened. "Again?!"
Saitama nodded, sitting up from his futon. "But it was a really good dream."Of course it was a dream. It always was. Hana sighed. Her dad was strong, yes, but he was still a bit of a bum.
"We're running out of clocks, dad." Hana told him. As she said that a loud crash sounded outside, causing the ground to shake a little.
"The surface is ours humans! You surface dwellers must die." A voice said from outside.
Hana and Saitama ran to the balcony to see a monster wielding four swords. The monster was surrounded by a group of tinier monsters. Before Hana could even say anything Saitama had ran back inside and changed into his hero suit. He jumped over the balcony railing landing on the large monster, squishing him flat.
The other monsters turned, looking at their fallen leader, then to Saitama.
"Alright bring it on!" He yelled in excitement surprising Hana. She had not seen him this excited in a while. What type of dream could her dad had to be acting like this?
The tiny monsters screamed before retreating. They left a white flag that read 'We surrender' behind.
"They surrendered." Hana stated in amusement.
Saitama let out a disappointed sigh."Sorry, dad. Looks like you won't get to have a lot of fun today." Hana said apologetically.
"Oh...that's okay, sweetie." His monotone voice told her otherwise.
Hana looked at him, a little worried. Her dad was pretty upset. She had never seen him like this before.
"Hey. How about I make you breakfast? Then we can go shopping. There's a sale going on in city A.
How does that sound?" She offered, smiling.
"That sounds good." He said, not really sounding excited about it.
"Okay. Why don't you turn on the tv and maybe water the cactus, I'll make some eggs and rice." She told him, turning to go inside.
As she began preparing breakfast Saitama changed into more casual clothes before turning on the tv. It was the news.
There was a report of a large amount of mosquitoes had appeared, taking away people's blood.
"That doesn't sound good." Hana said, walking back out into the front room.
"Mosquitoes, huh?" Saitama said. "It is summer. It's normal for bugs to come out around this time of year." He filled an elephant shaped watering can with water.
"Yeah, but these seem to be a lot more dangerous than usual." Hana commented, flipping the egg.
"That's true." He replied, walking back outside. He stood at the railing and began watering the cactus.
Hana hummed. It was nice to relax and hang out with her dad. Things had been so busy lately, and the two barely got to spend any time together.
