"SCUM BALL," SAID JENNA leaning against a chair at the dining table. I looked around the room with a raised eyebrow, trying to see who the hell she was talking to. "Scum bucket."

"Uh, are you talking to your imaginary friend, Aunt Jenna?" I asked with a laugh.

"No, I'm talking to him," she said, motioning with her head to the TV where a guy named Logan Fell was reporting about the animal attack that happened the other day.

"The... news reporter?" I asked, confusion coloring my tone as I looked over at the TV, seeing nothing wrong with the guy, except for the fact that he was ugly. And Fell was a pretty weird last name.

"Also known as Logan 'Scum' Fell." Jenna replied, looking over at Elena and I. "Did your mom ever tell you two why I moved away from Mystic Falls?"

Elena laughed as she realized that this was The Guy. "Oh, no way. You and him?" she inquired, amused, as she turned to look at the TV. "He's cute."

I scrunched my nose up in disgust. "He most definitely is not."

"He is not cute," Jenna harshly disagreed as Elena sat down at the table. "There's nothing cute about him." The look on Jenna's face could truly kill as she clicked the power off button on the remote, removing Logan Fell's ugly face and weird name from our television.

"What the hell is that, Elena?" I asked as I looked at the weird box-container-thingy that was opened in front of my sister.

"I went yesterday and got it from the safe deposit box. Mom had told Mrs. Lockwood that she would loan it to the Founder's Council for their heritage display."

"Oh." I shrugged. "Weird."

Jenna plucked a ring from the box. "Is that Grandma Beth's wedding ring?"

"Originally, it was Great-Great-Grandma Mary's wedding ring," Elena corrected as Jeremy walked into the room.

He grabbed something, too. "How much do you think this stuff is worth, you know, like, on eBay?" he asked.

Elena snatched it from him as I looked up at him. "No, Jer, you cannot sell it to buy drugs."

"That stuff is mom and dad's," Jeremy complained, walking into the kitchen. "You can't just give it away."

"You literally just asked how much it was worth on eBay," I said, shaking my head in annoyance.

"I'm not giving it away," Elena retorted. "It's called a loan, Jeremy."

The doorbell rang right after Jeremy opened the fridge door, making Elena and I share a confused look. Elena was the one that got up to go see who it was while Jenna and I kept looking at the antique things that Mom and Dad had in this thing. Old jewelry was so weird.
