The day had finally come. It was time to reveal the contestants in the Triwizard Tournament. Everyone was gathered in the Great Hall for the reveal before people were sent to their houses for the night.
You were running late with a few others who were caught up studying. You left your stuff in the library and hurried inside. Flinch was holding one of the giant doors open a little for the late students, making sure to scowl at each one of them. You rolled your eyes when you passed him.
When you slipped through the crack, everyone was almost settled. You were relieved that you hadn't missed the drawing yet.
The hanging bowls that held fire were dimmed as low as they could be and the room glowed with an enchanting light blue color. The glow was coming from the Goblet, the fire burning brightly- light crackling was heard from it.
It took a moment for your eyes to adjust to the environment being dark. You crept behind the tables and found your friends. You slipped between Harry and Ron, startling Harry.
"Merlin, Y/n, you near made me piss myself." He whispered, touching his chest where his heart was. He looked at you with wide eyes.
Your eyes narrowed at him, "Why?"
"I was focused." he whined, leaning his arms over the table as he continued to watch with anticipation.
You watched as Dumbledore lightly caressed the goblet, his half moon glasses reflecting the stunning blue light. His eyes were wide with wonder.
He took a few steps back and the fire built up, flashing a light red color before popping out a small piece of parchment. It smoked slightly as Dumbledore caught it. He quickly opened it and read it.
"The Durmstrang champion is... Viktor Krum!" he announced.
The Durmstrang students cheered lowly and patted Victor on the back, giving him high-fives as he stood. Krum walked over and shook Dumbledores hand.
Your eyes wondered behind the Goblet spotting familiar teachers, but one especially stood out to you: your dear Professor Snape.
When you looked at him, it seemed to be that he was already looking at you. You couldn't help but feel flushed, a bashful smiling appearing on your lips. You waved at him, like you always do. And in return, he gives you a nod- like he always does.
You were both lost in eachothers eyes, even from so far away, it seemed that he was analyzing your eyes piece by piece.
"Fleur Delacour!"
Feminine cheers rang through out the Great Hall, causing you and Severus to both slightly flinch. You had completely toned out everything else when you locked eyes with him. You joined the applause awkwardly and focused back to hear who the Hogwarts champion is.
The blue flame turned red again and another peice of parchment fell into the headmasters hands. He looked at it gladly.
"The Hogwarts champion, Cedric Diggory!"
A smile spread across your face and you cheered along with all the Hogwarts students. You didn't know Cedric too well, but you've talked to him from time to time. He was such a sweet, caring boy.
Cedric leaped up and rushed to the front, eagerly shaking Dumbledores hand. Dumbledore smiled at Cedric and gave him a playful pat on the shoulder as he left to join the other champions.
"Excellent!" Dumbledore called out as the applause died down. "We now have our three champions! But in the end, only one will go down in history." His hands folded in front of him. "Only one will hoist this chalice of champions. This vessel of victory, the Triwizard cup!"
