⫷One second I was afraid, the next, my hairy eyelids shot open.
⫷"The beast man... he is gone?" I asked
⫷"Yes."
⫷"Why my memory gone? Did he take it with him?"
⫷"No, that's not how things work. You're such a dumb gorilla," She paused, "You fainted. He can't take memories. It's not like he's magical."
⫷"He seems magical to me... powerful... scary."
⫷"He's not that powerful! Ok? He's not that powerful over ME!!" She yelled.
⫷"Oh. I'm sorry."
⫷We sat in the metallic barred room in silence. I caught a glimpse of the lumpy lady. She sat leaning against the shiny pillar staring into the abyss, her blue orbs becoming droopy and moist. I heard that, less emotionally stable, humans do this.
⫷Then I pondered, why did I even exit the jungle? I am a big strong gorilla of might, but I can't even fight. Here I am with no one to love; no one to hold. I thought she was like a gorilla, and the more I think about it, she really is. All my gorilla brethren ever did was taunt me, and have L rizz . Will I ever fall in love... this big strong gorilla, might......
⫷"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have yelled," Her sweet voice filled my ears like the jungle rain, "It wasn't nice, but... I'm scared."
⫷"He can't be too scary, beautiful chunk of woman. He took all your money, not much else to take."
⫷She gulped, hard, "Yes... but I have a son..."
⫷I was surprised, "You have a son?? Also a nice big husband too?" This thought made me very sad, but I could not tell why.
⫷"No... just a son."
⫷"Oh, husband died in a big ritualistic tribe hunting?"
⫷"What?! No!"
⫷"Why so surprising? That's how many die in gorilla tribe."
⫷"Ok... well... we errmm... separated after an argument about our son's name."
⫷"Why?"
⫷She looked around, into my eyes, and then at the ground before speaking again. She acted embarrassed which surprised me. She always seemed confident like gorilla leader, but maybe it was all fake.
⫷"I named him after my dog, Cheese, but in Spanish. I thought it would be too obvious so I changed the spelling a little. 'C-A-S-E-O-H' is how I spelled it."
⫷"That name is fine. Why did you argue?"
⫷"After Bob found out about why our son's name was Caseoh he got angry. He said I needed to let Cheese go. He told me I needed to love the people in the present; not the people of the past. I told him it wasn't fair to make me choose, and he said he would make the choice for me. He left."
⫷"I think he was wrong. You love both people... and still caring for cheese just shows you are amazing like the invention of rock tool and sweet like the ripened banana."
⫷"I guess so."
⫷"I will make sure nothing happens to Caseoh, son of Karen, thick gorilla woman. I give you olden gorilla tribe promise. It means trust, and we need to be able to trust each other."
⫷"Right... trust."
