Mingyu looks at Dokyeom, who is totally into the dumplings. "Do you like them?" Mingyu asks. Dokyeom nods. "I've never had dumplings with these fillings before," He says, his eyes lighting up. He points to the dumplings with his chopsticks to show Mingyu which ones he's talking about.
Mingyu chuckles. "I'm glad you like it." He continues to stare at Dokyeom until he finishes all of the dumplings. "Do you need more? I'll order so-" He gets cut off by Dokyeom. "N-no. Can we have pizza? I saw a pizza shop...in the mall when we-we came here." Dokyeom asks timidly, fidgeting with his fingers on his lap.
Mingyu stares at Dokyeom's adorable shyness, his heart fluttering due to Dokyeom's soft voice. "S-sure. Of course, why not?" Mingyu says, still dazed by his cuteness. He pays for their food and they walk towards the pizza shop a few feet away. Dokyeom happily jogs beside Mingyu.
"Did you talk with Jeonghan Hyung?" Mingyu asks as they settle onto a seat. "Umm...no." Dokyeom says, flipping through the menu. "Oh, so he talked to you?" Mingyu asks again, twisting the question, secretly hoping that didn't happen. "No, I didn't even see him since that day." Dokyeom answers.
Mingyu sighs, relieved. "Ok, that's good then." He whispers. "What's good?" Dokyeom asks, curiously.
"Ah...Nothing. What do you want to eat?" He changes the topic. "Umm, can we have the cheese and corn one? Oh, this one too." Dokyeom asks and points to the chicken pizza. Mingyu nods and flags down the waiter. "Maybe the veggie one too?" Dokyeom asks again in a small whisper, having been years since he had any pizza because Joshua even controlled what he ate.
Mingyu looks back at Dokyeom who's pointing to the menu expectantly. He turns to the waiter. "We'll have one of everything on the menu and double the cold drinks." The waiter's eyes go wide along with Dokyeom's. He hurriedly notes something in his order pad and rushes to the kitchen.
"E-everything?" Dokyeom stares at Mingyu with his mouth wide open. "Yes, everything," Mingyu says, his hand shooting up to close Dokyeom's jaw.
"But-" Dokyeom starts only to get cut off by Mingyu. "Shh, I know you wanted to eat everything. Don't worry about it."
As they wait for their order, Mingyu looks up from his phone at Dokyeom who's watching the people walk by from the glass window of the shop. "Do you have panic attacks often?" Dokyeom flinches and looks back at Mingyu. "Huh?" He questions, blinking his eyes, confused.
Mingyu takes a deep breath and looks at him with concern. "You had a panic attack in the car, didn't you?" He asks gently. "Do you get them a lot?" He pauses as if choosing his words carefully.
"Uh, yeah, I didn't know those were panic attacks before. I got them often when I was with Joshua. I didn't know what was happening to me, and it scared me. Then I searched up the symptoms online and found out that they were panic attacks. I get them less now since Joshua is not here." Dokyeom smiles awkwardly, hoping Mingyu doesn't find him weird.
Mingyu smiles sweetly at Dokyeom. "The next time you get one, please come to me. I'll always be there to help you." Dokyeom nods, relieved through Mingyu's words.
Their order arrives and Dokyeom stares at all the different kind of pizza's, wondering how he'll finish all of it. Mingyu chuckles, catching up to his thoughts. "Don't worry, if you can't finish it we'll get them delivered to the mansion, Hyungs and others will definitely be happy to have it."
Dokyeom nods and picks up a slice, letting out a breathy 'wow' at the cheese pull. Mingyu watches in awe as he finishes the first pizza with ease. "It's really good, isn't it?" Mingyu asks, sipping on his cold drink. Dokyeom nods, his eyes lighting up as takes a slice of the second pizza.
Mingyu chuckles, watching as Dokyeom struggles to finish the second pizza. "It's ok, I'll ask them to get the rest packed. Just finish the cold drink." Dokyeom nods shyly. "Thank you." He says and starts sipping on his drink, the waiter gets everything packed while Mingyu pays, he wanted to interject and pay the bill this time but he realizes that his pockets are empty and all his money and cards are with Joshua, so he keeps quiet and continues sipping his drink.
"Here you go, sir." The waiter places two huge brown paper bags in front of them. "Let's go." They thank the waiter, Mingyu picks up the bags and they leave the mall.
"We'll come back some other day to shop, it's getting late so let's go home now." Mingyu says as they walk towards his parked car. "Yeah, it's ok. Let's go home." Dokyeom says, following Mingyu to the car.
They reach the mansion and as soon as they enter inside. Dino walks to Mingyu and helps him carry the bags to the kitchen and Seungkwan runs up to Dokyeom, hooking his arms with Dokyeom's as he bombards him with questions. "Where did Hyung take you? Was it fun? Did he say something that he shouldn't have? Did he...do something?" Wait, what was in those bags?"
Dokyeom laughs and calmly answers each one of the questions. "We went to the mall. Yes, we had so much fun. Umm...no, we just talked about food and- nothing else. No, he didn't do anything, he's nice to me, he doesn't scold me or-or...hit me," Dokyeom pauses, taking a deep breath and trying not to let his emotions take over and ruin the happy moment.
Seungkwan notices and pats his back softly, feeling pity for the older and thinking how much he had to suffer for him to be this weak and traumatized.
Dokyeom takes his eyes off the floor and looks up at him, smiling a little, seemingly calming down before his thoughts could drift off to his traumatic past.
"There are a bunch of pizzas in the bag. Let's eat." Dokyeom says, smiling big now. Seungkwan smiles back, relieved. They happily walk to the dining table, their arms still linked together.
"Dokyeom-ah, come here." Mingyu pats the chair beside him but before Dokyeom could walk over to him, Seungkwan pulls him over to sit beside him. Dokyeom smiles apologetically at Mingyu, who's sitting across from him.
Mingyu's shoulders drop and lips form a pout when he sees Dokyeom sitting between Jeonghan and Seungkwan. Mingyu couldn't help but notice Dokyeom uncomfortably shifting in his seat when Jeonghan came over to sit beside them. The only relief he had was Seungkwan who cheered Dokyeom up and included him in conversations while they ate the pizza.
Mingyu sends daggers with his eyes at Jeonghan from time to time when he strikes up conversations with Dokyeom, who answers shortly and doesn't even look up to meet Jeonghan's eyes.
Jealousy overpowers Mingyu's senses as he chews onto each slice hardly and grinds his teeth angrily, which makes Minghao - who's sitting to his right - look at him concerned and worried.
All Mingyu could hope was they finish eating the pizza quickly and he could talk to Dokyeom in private.

We'll pause Vershua's part for a while and focus on Minseok for a few chapters!
I noticed a gradual decrease in reads in the last few chapters.
Now tell me honestly, is this story not interesting anymore? Is the plot going too plain? Is it not spicy enough? Is it not angst enough? Please answer these questions in the comments, so i can write according to it.
