Selina wasn't quite sure what to do about the latest stray she had found perched on top of this rather tall building. Runaways weren't anything new to her but something about this one of off. Judging by his manners and poster he most likely came from money, old money. One of Gotham's elitist families, the kind that had you trained in the social graces before you could even walk.
"It's very late don't you think you should be heading home?" She asked looking up at the sky for emphasis.
"Nope I have to finish my job" He retorted still holding onto the camera. Most people in Gotham knew not to flash around such an expensive object, this kid was just asking to get mugged.
"I think you've got enough photos," she stated eyeing the backpack he had tossed aside earlier.
"I suppose so" Tim hesitantly agreed packing up his things. Selian was able to get a slight peak at its contents. It looked like he had water and some medical supplies.
"How about I take you home?" she suggested.
"I can go myself," He told her politely "Thank you" This kid was tooth routinely sweet.
"Okay kitten see you then," she said watching as he started to climb to the fire escape. She figured she'd give him a few seconds and then follow him after all how hard could it be to tail a child?
She walked over to the fire escape and looked down but it seemed the kid had vanished. She quickly looked around but there was no trace of him. Where the heck did he go?
Meanwhile
To Bruce's surprise, Tim was already inside the batmobile with his backpack. Not that he minded, after all the batmobile was like a tank nothing should be able to get to him. Still, he had expected the little escape artist to spend all his time standing on rooftops with his camera in hand.
"What are you doing back here?" The vigilante asked opening the door.
"My hiding spot got too crowded" The smaller one shrugged rustling through his bag.
"Did anyone see you?" Bruce asked a slight edge to his tone
"I don't think so," Tim said pulling his prized camera out of his bag. It was probably best he not know about Tim's interaction with Catwoman.
"So how did you enjoy your first night in the field?" Bruce asked.
"Good" he responded going through his camera.
"So did you get any photos?" the small child nodded excitedly showing Bruce the camera.
With Tim acting so mature all the time it was easy to forget just how young he was, but when his photos were brought up Tim had a hard time containing his excitement. Bruce couldn't help but feel a small twinge of guilt that Tim would never be able to show those to anybody so he made sure to tell Tim how good they were.
"I like the lighting and angle it looks very professional" he remarked.
"Thank you" Tim replied in his usual polite voice as he took the camera back. Yep, tonight was a good night.
