Chapter 10: On the other side of the world

GEAU and America slowly entered the house of Japan. You could see some family photos with Empire of Japan and Japan. GEAU was intrigued by the place as the Asian house was very appealing and being on the other side of the world compared to home also made it special. The little Countryhumans looked around until America took her with him. Shortly thereafter, Japan came and bowed, as did America. She then greeted them warmly: "Hello America, it's good to see you again and it's good to see you're doing well GEAU. My mother will be here in a few minutes." Then America and Japan talked about what was happening in Europe and exactly why GEAU was with him.

Eventually Japanese Empire came down the stairs to them, she seemed happy. America walked up to her and gave her a brief bow, which Japanese Empire did as well, before shaking hands and saying: "Nice to see you again!" GEAU was shy, but she also approached her. As Japanese Empire noticing her, hugged her very gently. After that, she smiled at the little girl. "You're here because of your mother?", asked Japanese Empire. She replied: "Yes, do you know where he is?" Her reply was: "I don't know, but I know he's alive. I'd really like to look for him, but I still have a few things to take care of about my daughter."

"Do you know where I could find Mama?", she asked. Japanese Empire answered: "I have a guess, but I think it would be too dangerous." "She's flown halfway around the world, so talk.", America said a little more sternly. "In Antarctica!", Japanese Empire replied. "Okay, then we'll fly there!", shouted GEAU. America said: "Under no circumstances are you going to Antarctica!" "But maybe Mama is there!", she whined. "Do you know how cold it can be down there?", he asked her. Japanese Empire said: "Let her go, she'll find a way to get past you anyway. She's the child of the two most stubborn countryhumans I know."

Shortly after, she added: "If anyone can manage to find Reich, it's her!" "But it's so cold, stormy, and full of ice and snow.", he said worriedly. Japanese Empire then asked: "Have you forgotten her father? Apart from Antarctica, Greenland, Finland and Canada, it is the only one that can cope with such temperatures. Let her try the weather down there and she can still say 'no'." America looked at GEAU for a moment, but decided; "No, it's way too dangerous!" GEAU somehow felt so betrayed by America, even though she knew he feared for her. "Come with me for a moment with GEAU.", Japanese Empire asked her.

The little Countryhuman came with her into a room that looked like an office. Both stopped and Japanese Empire noticed something, which made her GEAU ask: "Since when do you have silver wingtips?" GEAU looked at her confused and spread her little wings a bit, which she also noticed. Her wingtips were silver and shiny. Then Japanese Empire went back to the previous topic and said: "You climb out the window and up the tree, after that I try to tell them I saw you fly away, but I'll get to you in half an hour and help you travel to Antarctica. Remember, the harder words hit you, the stronger you are and if someone says you can't do it, prove them wrong."

"Thank you!", GEAU shouted. Japanese Empire then helped her climb the tree. Japanese Empire ran back to the others. The plan worked and Japanese Empire brought GEAU back inside. Immediately Japanese Empire called and announced to the Countryhumans child that she would take her to the airport and she would travel to Australia where she would then have to transfer planes to fly to Antarctica. GEAU was driven to the airport where she said goodbye to Japan Empire and boarded the plane. After a few hours she reached Australia and waited half an hour for the plane, during which time she wrote:

Day 10:

I was in Japan and were wit Japanese Empire and Japan. Japanese Empire tinks Mama is in Antarctica and she said its very cold tere and now Im on my way there. I hope so much tat I can find Mama tere. My wingtips are turning silver somehow to, I like tat.

GEAU boarded the plane a few minutes later and flew on. There was turbulence from time to time because of the strong wind and that scared her a bit, but she slept most of the time and arrived unscathed. When the door was opened for her, she was caught by a really unbelievably cold breeze. She saw a small building and there were a few more buildings further back and she saw an ice desert for the first time. The small child was given thick and warm clothes before she got out. She went to the building closest to her. There everything she needed to know about the place was explained to her. The man who explained everything to her tried to convince her to go back home, but GEAU ignored this and left shortly afterwards without listening to the man, even though he wanted to warn her.

It was hard to walk in only one direction in the dark. She was already a kilometer away from the building, the snow was quite deep, but she didn't mind much. GEAU would love to use her wings to fly across the country, but her wings still hurt and it was too cold for them. She made her way relatively slowly, but the last thing she wanted to do was give up. After a few hours her legs hurt and she sat down briefly on the snow. She still didn't feel any real cold. Eventually she got up and continued walking in the direction she had been walking before.
