I stirred in my sleep, groggily pushing away the heavy blankets that clung to me.

The blinding brightness of the room cut through my fog of fatigue, an unwelcome intrusion.

It's supposed to be the soft, muted light of early morning, the kind that gently nudges you   awake when you've set your alarm for 6:30 AM—

Wait.

My brain caught up in a sluggish haze, jolted awake, struggling to grasp the implications.

The room was glaringly bright, far beyond the pale morning light I had anticipated.

I shot up, glancing at the clock.

The digital numbers flashed

10:38 AM!

A glaring reminder of my failure to wake up on time.

I groaned, cursing under my breath as I scrambled out of bed.

It was Sunday but the urgency of the Monday deadline hit me like a cold splash of water.

I grabbed my phone, muttering expletives at the alarm that clearly failed me.

With trembling fingers, I dialed my secretory, Ji-hye's number.

When she answered, her voice was a mix of confusion and cheerfulness. "Good morning, Director Hae."

I tried to mask my irritation. "Ji-hye, I'm going to be there in about an hour. I—"

Before I could get my life together verbally, she interrupted. "Director Hae, Mr. Min called this morning. He said you needed the day off to rest."

I blinked, taken aback.

"He did what?"

Clearly not getting the point of what was he up to.

Ji-hye's voice held a note of surprise. "Yes, he informed me you wouldn't be coming in today."

"Right..." My voice cracked under the disbelief. Yoongi, you meddling son of a— My thoughts trailed off. "But we still have so much to finish before tomorrow."

Ji-hye's tone became reassuring. "Don't worry, Director. The team has already wrapped up most of the work yesterday. You've done a fantastic job so far, and there's nothing critical left that we can't manage."

I was torn between relief and doubt.

I sank back onto the edge of the bed, running a hand through my hair.

"Are you sure? I'd rather not leave you all in a bind."
