Sora, Deku, and Eraser Head hurried down the darkened corridor, the walls around them shifting erratically under Mimic's control. Each step felt heavier as the tension mounted, but they pressed forward, their minds set on saving Eri and reuniting with Lemillion.
After navigating a maze of debris and distorted walls, they finally saw a familiar figure up ahead—Sir Nighteye. He was standing at a fork in the hallway, looking back toward them with relief in his eyes.
- Nighteye!- Deku called out as they approached.
- Midoriya, Aizawa, - Nighteye acknowledged them, his usual composed demeanor slightly frayed by the chaos unfolding around them. His gaze quickly shifted to Sora, but he said nothing, though there was a flicker of recognition in his sharp eyes. - You've managed to break through.
- Barely, - Eraser Head said gruffly. -Mimic's causing trouble.
Nighteye nodded.
- We've been able to push through part of the defenses, but Mimic's quirk has been distorting the entire hideout. We can't get a clear path to Overhaul.
As if to confirm his words, the walls trembled violently, sending waves of stone and metal surging toward them. Mimic's erratic power seemed to be spiraling out of control, driven by desperation. The air buzzed with tension, and debris rained down from the ceiling, threatening to cut off their route again.
Deku narrowed his eyes.
- We don't have time to waste.
With a determined look, Deku powered up One For All once more. His muscles surged with energy as he leaped forward and smashed his fist into the incoming debris. "Delaware Smash Air Force!" The shockwave from his punch obliterated the debris, sending shards flying in every direction. The walls buckled from the force, but the path forward remained intact for the moment.
In the midst of the chaos, Eraser Head's sharp eyes flickered with sudden recognition.
- I've found him, - he muttered, his gaze narrowing on a section of the wall that seemed to pulse unnaturally.
Without hesitation, he activated his quirk, and instantly, the distortion caused by Mimic began to dissipate. The walls stopped moving, and the oppressive pressure lifted slightly as Mimic's quirk was nullified.
They heard a guttural scream from the hidden villain as Mimic lost control of his power, and the building began to stabilize. Moments later, the League of Villains' presence, too, became noticeable—though distant. Sora tensed immediately, her gaze flickering toward the dark corridors they'd come from. She could sense them slipping away, just like before.
- They're leaving, - Sora said quietly, her voice colder than usual, but there was a tension beneath her words.
Deku shot her a concerned look.
- The League?
Sora nodded, her jaw tightening. She'd seen them again, those fleeting moments with Toga and now knowing the rest of the League was retreating. For a moment, it was like Kaoru's ghost hovered over her. The greenish-blue flickering moth had been her silent warning, and now, as always, the villains had escaped their grasp.
- We can't chase them now, - Eraser Head said firmly, noticing the shift in Sora. - Our priority is Eri and Overhaul.
Sora gave a tight nod, though the bitterness remained. She hated letting them go, knowing how dangerous they were, but the mission came first. With one last glance back toward where the League had vanished, she turned her attention forward.
- Let's go,- Nighteye said, his voice steady, though his expression was tense. - Lemillion's ahead, and Overhaul won't stop until he has what he wants.
