My parents did an amazing job keeping me out of social media and the public eye since the day I was born. Thanks to that decision, I was able to have a good childhood while growing up and having my own privacy protected on top of that. I am forever grateful for my parent's decision to give me the opportunity to grow up without being under the spotlight. It wasn't until I turned the age of sixteen, when I started attending events that my parents were invited to.
Tonight, I will be attending a red carpet movie premiere of a new upcoming movie that my father helped write the script with one of his longtime colleagues. The movie is to be released to the movie theaters around the world in early November of this year.
This event is going to be attended by my mother, my aunt, my uncle, my cousin, Peyton, Tristan and Kaylee. I would have invited Calvin and Samuel to attend this event however I can't because the invitations were sent out in late September and they came back into my life in early October.
Two weeks ago, I already had chosen the outfit I will be wearing tonight with a little bit of help from my aunt. According to our plan, all of us will be getting ready at my parent's house before we need to be heading to the event.
"Does everyone have everything that you need for tonight?" I asked my best friend and my cousin, making my way downstairs, carrying a red bag which contained a makeup bag and change of clothes just in case. My outfit, my accessories and my shoes were already at my parent's house.
"Almost Bree, I just need to get my makeup bag and then I will be ready to go." Peyton replied to my question, walking past me, making her way up the stairs to her room.
"Got it, Pey." I said, walking into the kitchen and setting my bag down on the counter.
"My dear cousin, my stuff is already loaded in the trunk of my car." Austen responded to my question, setting down a bag of chips on the counter.
"Okay Austen, that's good. I hope that we won't be behind on schedule." I said, taking a chip out from the bag. "Tristan, what about you?"
"Bree, my things are in your cousin's car as well." Tristan replied to my question, closing the refrigerator before he turned around and faced me.
"Okay Tristan." I replied, showing him a quick smile as I sat down in one of the bar stools.
Tristan smiled back at me, retrieving his phone from his back pocket and then he looked down, checking the time on his phone's screen before he looked at us. "Speaking of schedule, I should check what is taking my girlfriend so long. I will be right back, Bree and Austen."
"Okay Tristan, you know where we are." My cousin said, sitting down on the bar stool right beside me as Tristan exited the kitchen and began walking up the stairs.
"Is it your girlfriend, meeting us at my parent's house?" I asked him, looking at him over my shoulder.
"Yeah she is. My girlfriend needs to care about something first." Austen responded to my question, keeping the answer simple and not sharing any more information regarding his girlfriend's whereabouts which I respect. "Kaylee was super happy when she received her invitation last month."
"That's good, I am glad that she is happy to be attending this event. Anything for my new future cousin-in-law." I said, smiling, still looking at him. My cousin chuckled at my last sentence, which earned a playful bump on his right shoulder from me.
"Hey Mister Doyle, don't laugh at me. I am being serious when are you going to ask Kaylee, the important question? The two of you have been dating since your junior year of high school." I said, crossing my arms against my chest.
