**Chrollo Lucilfer POV**
---
The dim lights of UA’s gym flickered slightly as I walked through the now-empty space, the aftermath of the exercise still palpable in the air. The mist had long since dissipated, leaving only the echoes of the students' struggles reverberating through the walls. I could still feel the faint energy from Midoriya's attack lingering like static, a testament to the boy's growing strength. But raw power, as I told him, was never the most important attribute.
It’s how one uses it that truly matters.
As I made my way to the pedestal where the glowing orb once sat, I couldn’t help but reflect on the events of the day. Midoriya, Bakugo, Jiro, Tokoyami—they had shown potential, yes, but potential was nothing without the will to harness it. And that was what I intended to discover: who among these so-called heroes would be willing to cross the line when pushed to their limits?
The orb, still faintly warm from where Midoriya had held it, rested in my palm now. A simple tool, really, but effective in drawing out the qualities I wished to observe. The students had performed admirably under the circumstances, but they had yet to be truly tested. The real challenge, the one that would reveal their true natures, was yet to come.
I glanced toward the dark corners of the gym, where shadows seemed to pulse with a life of their own. This place, this school—it was a breeding ground, a crucible for the next generation of heroes. And yet, heroes were only as strong as the trials they faced. If they were to be forged into something greater, they would need to confront their own fears, their own darkness.
And I would be the one to show them.
As I moved through the gym, my thoughts drifted to my true purpose here. My role at UA was merely a facade, a means to an end. The Phantom Troupe had its sights set on something far more valuable than these naive students could imagine. But before we could strike, I needed to understand the power dynamics at play, to assess the threats and identify potential assets.
Midoriya was an intriguing subject, to be sure. His power, One For All, was unlike anything I had encountered before—a quirk passed down through generations, growing stronger with each successor. The boy’s determination was commendable, but there was something more beneath the surface. A hidden fire, a desperation to prove himself that bordered on obsession. He was strong, yes, but strength alone wouldn’t be enough to protect what he held dear.
Bakugo was another interesting case. His explosive nature, both literally and figuratively, made him a dangerous opponent, but also a liability. The boy was driven by a need to be the best, to surpass everyone around him, yet his arrogance blinded him to the finer nuances of battle. His temper was his greatest weakness, one that could easily be exploited.
