The sound of sheep noises echoed from the hole as Sushila observed Ris from above, her disbelief growing at the unusual sight below.
The presence of a being that was half human and half animal was rare in these lands, and she had never heard any rumors of such a phenomenon before.
She was skeptical, unsure whether it was a human using transformation magic to cross-dress or simply a demon. Drawing closer for a better view, she accidentally made noise by knocking rocks into the hole, giving away where she was.
Ris glanced towards the rocks and spotted a figure charging towards him at full speed, wielding a sword. Reacting swiftly, he evaded the figure's attack by leaping back, feeling a strong gust of wind as the figure swung the sword.
He drew out his revolver, aimed at the womanly figure, and pressed the blue button with his thumb.
"Stay back; don't come any closer," he cautioned, holding his gun tightly at Sushila with confusion clouding his mind.
(A hybrid? But that can't be right; the data didn't mention anything about one of my kind being here. Darn it, just when I thought I could escape from that place, they were already here.) Ris realized that his escape might not be as easy as he had hoped.
Sushila was dumbfounded, as she didn't understand what the sheep man said. It wasn't speaking in either human or demon language; all it did was make sounds like a sheep.
"I don't know what you are, and I don't care. Your kind is not welcome here. This is a peaceful village, so please leave; this is your only warning."
Ris's confusion turned to fear as he was puzzled by the incomprehensible words pouring out of Sushila's mouth. "What language are you speaking in, hybrid?" he demanded, steadying his aim with his gun. "Are you associated with F.R.C. [Folk Research Centre]? Tell me now, or I will shoot!"
Sushila dashed towards him like a speeding rocket, her feet pounding the ground with a thunderous boom, and the wind rushing past her like a whooshing tornado.
She swung her sword at him with the force of a lion's might, but he swiftly evaded the attack by leaping to the side, creating distance from Sushila.
He fired at Sushila, but instead of bullets, a blue laser beam shot out. Sushila tilted her head to dodge the beam of light heading towards her face.
She quickly ran towards him with blazing speed and grabbed onto him with incredible strength like a giant octopus wrapping its tentacles tightly around its prey.
With a quick and powerful move, Sushila body-slammed Ris onto the ground, causing a booming impact that shook the village. The force of her blow was so strong that he was knocked out cold, his body creating a deep crack in the ground beneath him.
Ris suddenly woke up in a daze, finding himself lying on a creaky bed in a rustic wooden house.
The unfamiliar surroundings sent a shiver down his spine as he attempted to sit up, only to realize his hand was tightly bound to the bed frame with a makeshift rope woven from hay.
He looked around to try to find something to escape with, but only saw his stuff on a wooden bedside table. "Computer?" Ris called out.
Computer said responded if she was annoyed, "Tsk... Yes?"
"Thank great sheep you're responsive now. How long was I out?"
"......"
"Computer?"
"Computer, are you there? Please respond." asked Ris, a hint of worry creeping into his voice.
"....."
"Why are you not responding?" Ris sighed and began gnawing on the hay rope in an attempt to break free.
As he chewed through the rope, he could feel it slowly starting to give way. After a few minutes of intense chewing, Ris finally broke free from his bonds and dashed to Computer, grabbing her. "I should have fixed you before I got here," he muttered regretfully.
"There is nothing wrong with me. I am perfectly fine," said Computer.
"I called out to you twice, but you didn't respond, disobeying me," Ris blurted out.
"I wasn't. I was simply checking how long you were unconscious since landing. It has been two days. Also, I have analyzed the species' language and adapted our communication to match theirs."
"Two days?!" Ris exclaimed, his voice a mix of shock and disbelief. Grateful for Computer's assistance, he added, "Thank you, computer."
Feeling overwhelmed by the situation and the unknown species he had encountered, Ris reached for his revolver. Clicking the white button, he aimed it at his head and pulled the trigger. A beam of white light shot out, connecting with his head and sending a rush of information flooding into his brain.
"Did it work?"
"Yes, now leave me alone."
"No, you must help me escape and get far away from here."
"Why do I have to deal with this? I didn't cause this mess."
"Please help. We have nowhere else to go."
