Davina Danes was sat in her father's diner, reading a fashion magazine as she drank her cola.
Luke sighed, looking at his daughter. "Davina, could you please go sit at a table? I need the counter for ordering customers."
"I am an ordering customer." Davina insisted. "I'll have some fries."
"Just fries?" Luke scoffed.
"Yup." Davina nodded.
"You don't want a burger or anything with it?" Luke raised his eyebrows.
"Nope." Davina then shook her head.
"Fine." Luke mumbles.
"Thanks, daddy." Davina brightly smiled, causing Luke to playfully roll his eyes.
Lorelai Gilmore then walked in and she went straight to the counter, flashing Luke a warm smile as she held up an empty mug in her hands. "Please, Luke. Please, please, please."
"How many cups have you had this morning?" Luke asked the woman.
"None." Lorelai lied.
Luke didn't believe her one bit. "Plus..."
"Five." Lorelai admits, sheepishly smiling. "But yours is better." Lorelai sweet talks her way into getting another coffee. "Right, kid?" The Gilmore girl nudged Davina.
Davina looked up from her magazine and shrugged. "I dunno. I don't even like coffee."
Lorelai gasps. "Take that back."
Luke glanced between his daughter and Lorelai. "You have a problem." Luke pointed out.
Lorelai nodded, handing Luke her empty mug. "Yes, I do." She admits.
Luke takes the mug and fills it up with coffee. "Junkie." Luke teases, handing the freshly cup of coffee to her.
"Angel." Lorelai grinned. "You've got wings, baby."
"Lorelai, can I sit with you? My dad's winging about me sitting at the counter." Davina sweetly asked.
"Sure, sweetie." Lorelai brightly smiles, taking a seat at a table near the window.
"I'll bring you your fries over in a minute." Luke called over.
"Thanks." Davina said as she sat down with Lorelai, taking her magazine and her drink of cola with her.
Seconds after the two girls had sat down, a guy walked over.
"You make that look really good." The guy said to Lorelai, admiring as she drank coffee.
"Oh, it is really good. It's the best coffee in town." Lorelai complimented the drink. "It's actually Davina's dad who serves it." Lorelai points over at the teenager sat opposite her.
Davina didn't say anything, she just looked up at the guy and waved politely.
"Oh yeah? I'll have to get a cup." The guy nodded, looking Lorelai up and down.
"Good plan." Lorelai hummed.
"Yeah, I've never been here before. Just passing through on my way to Hartford." The guy continued.
Davina listened to the two talk, a bored expression resting on her face. At times like this, Davina wished Rory was here to keep her company.
"You're a regular Jack Kerouac." Lorelai observed.
"Hey, you girls mind if I sit down?" The guy asked both Lorelai and Davina.
"I really wish you wouldn't." Davina mumbled under her breath, but only Lorelai heard her.
