The next day, Beomgyu found himself back at the coffee shop, seeking his daily caffeine fix and a friendly face. The charming barista, Soobin, was there with his usual warm smile.

As Beomgyu approached the counter, he noticed that the coffee shop was much less crowded than the day before. It was just him and Soobin, which provided a more intimate atmosphere.

"Hey, Soobin" Beomgyu greeted, taking his usual spot near the window. "Looks like I got lucky today. No one's here to interrupt our banter this time."
Soobin chuckled, leaning against the counter. "Yeah, it's quiet today. Just the way I like it."

He began preparing Beomgyu's coffee, the familiar practiced motions almost mesmeric. "So, how's the studying going? Still losing brain cells every day?"

Beomgyu huffed dramatically. "Ugh, don't even get me started. I'm drowning in textbooks, equations, and endless lectures. I think my brain is protesting, honestly."

Soobin chuckled at Beomgyu's complaints as he placed the freshly brewed coffee on the counter. "And yet, you still come in here every day for your coffee fix. I should start charging you extra for the therapy sessions we have on the side."

Beomgyu feigned indignation as he took a sip of his coffee. "Hey, I'm practically your best customer. You should be giving me discounts instead of threatening me with extra charges."

Soobin leaned forward, a teasing smile playing on his lips. "Oh, so you think you're special just because you're my favorite customer, hm?"

"Well, maybe I am special" Beomgyu replied, mirroring Soobin's playful tone. "You wouldn't create foam hearts for just anyone, would you?"

Soobin couldn't help but chuckle. "Touché. You've got me there."

He leaned even closer, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. "You know, you could be even more special if you came to the café after classes more often. I get lonely here, you know."

Beomgyu tried to act nonchalant, but there was a slight blush on his cheeks. "Oh, so now you're trying to guilt-trip me into visiting more often? What happened to your tough barista persona?"

Soobin feigned offense, placing a hand dramatically on his chest. "Please, my tough persona is still very much intact. But even a tough barista has feelings, you know."

He gave a exaggerated sigh, "And I just happen to miss my favorite customer when he's not here."

Beomgyu rolled his eyes, but a smile tugged at his lips. "Don't go all sappy on me. I've seen how you charm every customer who comes in here. I'm not falling for it."

Soobin chuckled, his gaze locking with Beomgyu's. "Ah, but it's different with you. You're the only one who appreciates my witty banter and foam-heart art."

He reached across the counter and flicked Beomgyu's forehead lightly. "Besides, I can't help being charming. It's in my barista DNA."

Beomgyu batted Soobin's hand away and laughed. "Oh, please. You have a different kind of charm for every customer, don't you? I bet you even charm the coffee beans with your smiles."

Soobin mimicked shock. "You caught me. I have a secret charm technique for every ingredient in this café. The coffee beans are particularly weak to my eye smile."

Beomgyu couldn't help but laugh. "I should have known. I'm just lucky I have an immunity to your charm, since I spend so much time around you."

Soobin smiled mischievously. "You think you have an immunity, huh? Bold claim. I have a secret weapon that might just shatter that immunity, you know."

Beomgyu raised an eyebrow, feigning indifference. "Oh really? And what's this secret weapon of yours that I apparently should be so worried about?"

Soobin leaned in even closer, his voice dropping to a hushed, conspiratorial tone. "It's a secret. If I told you, I'd be giving away my ultimate card. And I wouldn't want to make my favorite customer too weak-hearted, would I?"

Beomgyu crossed his arms, trying to maintain his unimpressed facade. "Hmph. Sounds like an empty threat to me. I doubt you have anything that could actually break my immunity."

Soobin chuckled, a twinkle in his eye. "Oh, you underestimate me. I have a few tricks up my sleeve that might just make your resistance waver."

He leaned back and started wiping the counter with a cloth, acting casual. "But for now I'll let you keep thinking you're immune. It's more entertaining this way."

Beomgyu huffed, pretending to be annoyed. "Fine, keep your secrets. But just remember, I'm impervious to your charm, no matter how many tricks you have up your sleeve."

He took another sip of his coffee, trying to hide his curiosity.

Soobin grinned, enjoying Beomgyu's feigned indifference. "We'll see about that. I have my ways to chip away at that hard exterior of yours. One day, you'll be weak in the knees from my charm, mark my words."

Beomgyu rolled his eyes but couldn't help a small smile. "You're deluded, you know that? I'm not some swooning schoolboy who'll fall for cheesy pick-up lines and foam heart art."

Soobin chuckled. "You underestimate the power of foam heart art. It's a proven fact that it makes people weak in the knees. And don't act like you don't enjoy our little banter. You come back here every day just to sass me."

Beomgyu couldn't deny the truth in Soobin's words, but he wasn't about to admit it. "I come here for the coffee, obviously. The banter is just a side effect."

Soobin raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile on his face. "Oh, so you're saying you'd come here just for the coffee even if I weren't here to banter with you? I'm hurt, truly."

Beomgyu tried to maintain his composure, but there was a hint of a smile on his face. "Don't get ahead of yourself. Of course I'd come even if you weren't here. The coffee here is top-notch, after all."

Soobin feigned a wounded expression, clutching his chest dramatically. "Oh, the betrayal. I thought I was more important than just a cup of coffee. I see where my place is now."

Beomgyu burst into laughter. "Don't act so offended. You know you're irreplaceable. Who else would listen to my endless ranting and create art foam hearts for me?"

Soobin grinned, his dramatic act fading. "That's more like it. Just remember, I'm the only one who can put up with you and your snarky attitude day after day."

Beomgyu leaned forward, resting his chin on his palm. "Oh, you love it, don't deny it. My snarkiness keeps you entertained, and you'd miss it if I were suddenly all sweet and docile."

Soobin leaned against the counter, a lazy smile on his face. "You're right, I do love it. Your feisty attitude is part of your charm. If you were suddenly all sweet and docile, I'd think you were replaced by a doppelganger or something."

Beomgyu smirked, enjoying the compliment hidden within the words. "Well, I'm glad to know I keep you entertained. And who knows, maybe someday I'll surprise you and be all sweet and docile just to throw you off guard."

Soobin chuckled, a mischievous glimmer in his eyes. "Oh, I'd like to see you try. I doubt you can be sweet and docile for more than five minutes before reverting back to your snarky self."

Beomgyu raised an eyebrow, a challenging smile on his lips. "Are you saying I can't control my own behavior? I think I could be sweet and docile for a whole ten minutes if I wanted to."

Soobin pretended to consider, tapping his chin in mock contemplation. "Ten minutes, huh? That's a whole two minutes longer than I estimated you could handle it. I'll believe it when I see it."
