It felt so good to be home, finally. Yes, I had been in L.A the last week of promotion but I opted to stay in the hotel with the cast.

Hell, it was already factored into the production's budget, so why would I give up the offer to spend a week in a hotel with people who I had now considered to be family?? The hotel was luxurious, with a rooftop pool and stunning views of the city skyline. We spent our evenings laughing and reminiscing about the filming process, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Late night room service, karaoke sessions filled our time.

The press tour and promotion of the movie was finished and the cast had all gone our separate ways and back home.

It was bittersweet, really. But it was time to go on to other things. Some of us already having our next projects already lined up. Others looking forward to the down time.

Tasia and I had established what it was that both of us were looking for. We now spoke every single day, multiple times for the day. Even her children took it upon themselves to call me more often.

I don't know if they knew or understood their mom and I's "friendship" but it felt as though they incorporated me into their lives even more than I was before.

My own child had some idea. Teasing and cracking jokes on me. Not to mention, he was constantly sending me the Instagram reels and TikTok videos people made of the two of us. He seemed to enjoy the idea of me having someone special in my life.

Speaking of Marcell, I heard his loud footsteps veering downstairs as I stood at my stove preparing breakfast for him.

Unlike me, Marcell was not vegetarian. The farthest from it actually. My child was constantly trying and indulging in the weirdest fucking meats.

So here I was, making him eggs, waffles and -

"Ouu is that bacon?" He rounded the corner before greeting me with a kiss on the cheek

"Good morning to you too"

A chuckle left his mouth "My bad, morning ma"

He scrolled on his phone as I finished up. Occasionally chuckling and showing me funny clips. His laughter was infectious And I found myself giggling along with him, accompanied by the sound of sizzling bacon and the aroma of my freshly brewed coffee. I lived for moments like this.

Once I plated his food as well as mine (that I had prepared earlier), we sat together at my breakfast nook, eating.

"Thanks ma" He dug in immediately

"So what we doing for Christmas?" He inquired  after a couple minutes of silence "Cuz it ain't no message in that family group chat. I ain't get sent no itinerary or nothing. We doing it small this year? Is it just gonna be us and grandma? Orrr?" Marcell rose his eyebrows, a sly smile on his face as if he was trying to imply something
