The hours ticked by, and the tension in the club gradually dissolved into a haze of alcohol and dimmed lights. The earlier confrontation was now a distant memory, lost in the rhythm of the night. The VIP lounge on the second floor was a sanctuary for those who commanded power, and Lisa Min was its queen. She sat back, her glass of whiskey in hand, surveying the scene below with a detached interest. Jisoo, her ever-loyal companion, lounged beside her, swirling her own drink lazily.

"Quiet night," Jisoo commented, her eyes half-lidded as she watched the crowd beneath them.

Lisa merely nodded, her gaze distant. The club had its usual mix of regulars and newcomers, people looking to lose themselves in the darkness and the music. But Lisa was always vigilant, always aware of the subtle shifts in the atmosphere, the undercurrents of danger that others might miss.

It was during one of these absent-minded scans that Lisa's attention was caught by a woman who had just entered the club. Irene, a strikingly beautiful woman with an air of confidence that turned heads as she moved, made her way to the bar. Lisa watched her with mild interest; she didn't recognize her, but something about Irene's presence drew her attention.

Irene had come to the club on a whim, curious about the place that everyone seemed to be talking about. She was dressed to impress, her long hair cascading over her shoulders, and her eyes sparkling with the excitement of the night. She met up with a friend near the bar, ordering a drink and laughing at some joke. As the night went on, she didn't notice when a man, who had been watching her from the shadows, slipped something into her drink when her friend was distracted.

Lisa's eyes narrowed as she noticed the man's suspicious behavior. He wasn't one of her men; she knew every face that worked under her, and this one didn't belong. She continued to watch, her senses sharpening as she saw Irene start to sway slightly, her laughter turning into confusion as the drugs began to take effect.

The man, seizing the opportunity, moved closer to Irene, his hand sliding around her waist. Lisa's grip on her glass tightened as she saw Irene's futile attempts to push him away. She was clearly disoriented, her movements sluggish, her eyes struggling to focus. The man's hands grew bolder, sliding down her body in a way that made Lisa's blood boil. Irene tried to fight back, but the drugs were too strong, and her resistance weakened with each passing moment.

Lisa's decision was made in an instant. She set her glass down with a controlled fury and rose from her seat, her eyes never leaving the man who was now trying to drag Irene toward the exit. Jisoo, ever observant, noticed the change in Lisa's demeanor.

"Something up?" Jisoo asked, her voice casual but with an undercurrent of concern.

"Stay here," Lisa ordered, her tone brooking no argument. "I've got something to handle."

Without waiting for a response, Lisa stormed out of the lounge, her long strides taking her down the stairs and through the crowd with purpose. Her men, recognizing the look on her face, quickly moved out of her way, sensing the storm brewing in their leader's eyes.

By the time Lisa reached the entrance to the car park, the man had already managed to drag Irene outside. Irene's legs were barely holding her up, her vision blurring as she tried to make sense of what was happening. The man, sensing no one was around to stop him, was attempting to shove her into the passenger seat of his car.

Lisa's approach was swift and silent. The man didn't even have time to react before Lisa grabbed him by the collar and slammed his head down onto the hood of his car with a sickening thud. The sound echoed in the otherwise silent car park, and the man let out a pained grunt, trying to twist out of her grip.

But Lisa was relentless. She didn't stop, her anger fueling the repeated slams of his head against the metal. The man's blood splattered across the hood, his resistance growing weaker with each blow. Finally, when she was certain he was no longer a threat, Lisa twisted his neck with a brutal snap. His lifeless body slumped to the ground, and Lisa didn't spare him a second glance.

Her attention immediately shifted to Irene, who was barely conscious, her body leaning against the car. Lisa quickly assessed her condition, noting the sluggish movements and the glassy look in her eyes. The drugs were still coursing through Irene's system, and she was in no condition to defend herself, let alone get home safely.

Lisa cursed under her breath, knowing she couldn't leave Irene like this. She carefully lifted Irene into her arms, the weight of the woman almost nothing to her as she cradled her against her chest. As Lisa turned to head back inside, she was met with the sight of Jisoo standing in the doorway, her arms crossed and a smirk playing on her lips.

"I thought you were the heartbreaker," Jisoo teased, her tone light but with a hint of amusement.

Lisa shot her a death glare, her voice cold and unyielding. "She needs help. I'm taking her back to my flat."

Jisoo raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the rare moment of seeing Lisa flustered. "Sure thing, boss. But I have to say, this is a new side of you."

"Don't push it," Lisa warned, her tone leaving no room for argument.

Jisoo chuckled, stepping aside to let Lisa pass. "Just saying. I'll handle things here."

Lisa didn't respond, her focus entirely on getting Irene to safety. The cold, calculated persona she showed the world was momentarily cracked as she carried the unconscious woman out to her car. Placing Irene gently in the back seat, Lisa took a deep breath, trying to shake off the lingering anger that still simmered beneath her calm exterior.

As she drove through the quiet city streets, the soft glow of the streetlights casting eerie shadows on Irene's pale face, Lisa couldn't help but wonder what had driven her to act so impulsively. This wasn't like her; she didn't usually involve herself in the lives of strangers, especially not with such intensity. Yet something about Irene had struck a chord within her, something she couldn't quite put into words.

When she finally reached her flat, Lisa carefully carried Irene inside, laying her down on the couch. Irene mumbled something incoherent, her head lolling to the side as she drifted in and out of consciousness. Lisa quickly fetched a blanket, covering Irene and making sure she was comfortable before sitting down across from her.

The night was far from over, but for now, Lisa would keep watch, her eyes never leaving the vulnerable figure on her couch. The woman who had dared to walk into her life had no idea the storm she had just unleashed.
