What was I to do now? I had just witnessed the death of time, existence and creation, yet I am still here. I stood there for a moment, but I wasn't thinking. Just stood there, with silence in my mind.

"Hello?"
A voice came from behind me, so I turned around.
A man of average height stood before me. He looked very normal. Very human. "What are you doing here?" He said casually. What was I doing here? I had been asking myself that. "Oh no. You're another stray aren't you" he said, disappointed.

"I'm sorry?" I replied.

"Oh, my apologies. Of course, it's not your fault. You wouldn't remember anyway" he said.

"I...I don't understand" I replied.

"It would seem, my universe has a bit of a leak to it" he said looking around the dark void we appeared to be in.

"Your what?" I asked, confused.

"Oh, I know you," he said squinting at me. "you've been in cryo for some time, haven't you? Just like the humans to forget you. Never mind, I can fix that".

"What is this place?" I asked

"You died" he said.
I was silent, I already knew that. He didn't answer my question.

"When you woke up..." he seemed to be talking to himself. "Well, I can't blame you. You were the last human on your own planet. What else were you going to do" he stared down at the world below. He took a deep breath in, then let it out while muttering to himself.
"What to do with you...where to put you...what to call you... " he asked himself over and over.

"What?" I said to him, hoping to catch his attention. For a moment, I thought he had forgotten I was there.

"Walk with me" he said abruptly.

"Where are we going?" I said in return.

"Nowhere in particular, it's just nice to walk while we talk" he said.

"Is this the afterlife?" I asked, still curious as to our whereabouts.

"More or less" he replied

"Are you God?" I asked, intending to pester him with questions.

"More or less" he replied again.

"And what happens now? Do I go to heaven or hell or something? Because I stopped by but there was no one there. Did something happen?..."

"Hush" he said, cutting me off. "Neither, you'll be reincarnated" he added.

"So...the Hindus were right then" I said dismissing my confusion.

"All religions are right in their own way. As you saw, there is in fact, a heaven and a hell. Though I think you humans over-dramatized it a slight bit. Hell isn't nearly as bad as you make it out to be. But, heaven is a lot nicer, I'll be honest" he rambled.

"I'm not religious" I tried to tell him, I honestly didn't know much about heaven or hell, just that heaven was the more preferred place. He ignored my comment and began blabbering on about 'his' humans and their funny little beliefs. I stopped listening. Instead, I looked down onto my abandoned home below and thought about what I had seen.

"Chinese peasant the girl in 540 AD" he said, snapping me out of my daydream.
"Yes, this time around, you'll be a Chinese peasant girl in 540 AD" he repeated.

"This time around?" I asked "How many times have I been reincarnated?"

"Oh, lots and lots. You're a new person every time you die" he said with a smile. He looked pleased with himself.
