Hey there, you! 👋
As I'm currently plot outlining and writing the first draft of Playing with Fire, a few questions popped up in my head.
I purposely don't write author's notes at the end of my chapters, because I feel like it detracts from being immersed in my stories. But sometimes I do have things I wish I could ask y'all. So I decided to pop this chapter up here and see if I get any feedback!
#1: How do you feel about chapter titles?
None of my stories have chapter titles, just numbers. Is it helpful to have titles for them? I guess I can see this coming in handy for re-reads, or if you're trying to find a specific moment. Do you have a preference?#2: Is it helpful to have Mature chapters marked?
I mark the beginning of my chapters with these reminders and plan to keep those, but would it be helpful to mark the chapter title with an emoji or 'M' rating too?#3: How do you feel about my story pictures?
I have always loved making graphics, and once I found Canva I went crazy with adding graphics to my stories. In reading across Wattpad, I've noticed some readers don't like them because they prefer to imagine characters their own way. Do you find them helpful, do they detract from the imagination, or do they not matter as much as I think they do?#4: Are you interested in 'About the Author' content?
I actually hate talking about myself, but I know sometimes people are curious. Should I do an about the author book, or not bother? If yes, what kind of things do you like to know about the author? Personal things, questions about their writing process?#5: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. What did you eat? 🥞
That's all. Thank you for helping, thank you for reading, thank you for commenting and amusing me, and thank you for your votes to help my stories reach more readers. You all are awesome.
