2. Party

•Bethany's POV•

Today is the day of Derek and Mark's party. And yes I agreed that I would go. Not sure why, but I did. Thankfully, Sadie agreed to tag along with me. The party started at 8 and I had invited Sadie to come over my house at 6 so we can get ready together and hang out for a bit. I just had gotten out of bed after scrolling through my newsfeed on twitter and Instagram, when I decided I should probably shower before I spend all day in bed doing nothing but watching Netflix. After I got out of the shower I went to my closet to figure out something to wear. I scanned my fingers along the different coat hangers until I found the perfect outfit to wear, my Tiffany blue dress.Then for about 30 minutes I pondered to myself if I should actually wear a dress or not. I mean who knows maybe it will look like I'm trying too hard or too dressed up. So what do I usually do when I don't know what to wear? Text Sadie of course.Good thing she was planning on wearing a dress too. Finally, Sadie is arrives at my house. After finding the right shoes, putting on my makeup and curling my hair we are ready to roll. It's only about a 45 minute drive from my house to Mark and Derek's house. After trying to find a parking space we finally see an opening and take it on a heart beat. Wow is an understatement to describe their house. Just walking up the driveway I'm already in awe and I haven't even seen the inside. Once we reach the doorstep both Sadie and I freeze. Why? Because we are too afraid to ring the door bell or knock on the door. Childish right? We both fight each other as we try to bring one another's hand to hit the door or doorbell, as Sadie and I are forcefully pulling on each other's hands and arms the door suddenly opens. To say that we were embarrassed is yet another understatement. I feel the heat rise to my cheeks as Derek stands there and laughs at both of us.

"Too afraid to open the door now are we" Derek said in a sneaky voice.

Ugh he looks so hot in khakis I thought..

"Nah we were just ummm...." I ran out of words and didn't no what to say so I looked to Sadie trying not to panic.

"We were just debating whether we should ring the door bell or knock" Sadie said quickly.

"Yeah totally"Derek said rolling his eyes laughing slightly. "Well please come in" Derek gestures for us to walk inside. He turns to me and hugs me first, very tightly I might add.Then he turns and hugs Sadie also.

Mark rushes over and says," Those are my favorite girls" and hugs us both in a group hug. After us three hugged Derek informed us that refreshments are too the left and food is straight ahead. We thanked him and wandered off to go get something to eat since Sadie and I spent so much time getting ready we really didn't eat much. We walked into the kitchen to the large selection of food and got two plates then soon after started stuffing our faces with delicious food.Once we finished eating we went to go talk to some of the old Dancing With The Stars people. What I did not really realize is how many people there were here. Not to mention all the famous people, I think my mind was blown. It was so fun talking with everyone. Especially the people that I have missed from season 19 of dwts, It was like a large family reunion. I was in a conversation with Sasha when I felt someone hug me from my back. My first thought was that it was Derek so I quickly tensed up and got nervous. I turned around and was relieved that it was only Janel. We hugged and then she asked me what I have been up to lately. Then she told me she needed to talk to me in privacy. Janel led me upstairs to a spare bedroom to talk with no one around. The room we walked into was huge, another aspect of the house the be blown away by. I sat on the desk chair while Janel sat on the edge of the bed so we were facing eachother.

"That was some hug." Janel started off

"What do you mean?" I said quickly

"Maybe just the fact that he hugged you for like 3 hours!! And I did notice how he wasn't letting go of you." Janel stated

"Well we haven't seen each other in awhile. He just missed me, that's all." I said trying to not believe that Derek actually could be falling for me.

"Oh c'mon Beth cut the crap we all know whats going on here." Janel says

"I definitely don't know anything that's going on here will you please tell me!!!" I said getting impatient and frustrated

"Isn't it obvious already...everyone can see it... you and Derek are falling in love. I've noticed the glances he's given when you talk to other guys or the way he looks at you when you used to dance side by side. You guys are so blinded by each other's love that you don't even know what's happening!" Janel explained

I just sat there and had no clue of what I should say, I am now more confused than ever. As we sit there in silence we hear the balcony door open up from the left side of the bed that Janel is sitting on and Derek is standing there in the middle of the open doors. I loudly gasp and wonder if he had just heard our entire conversation.
