"MK NO!"
As his successor walked towards the Pillar of Heaven, Sun Wukong screamed in pain and tried to stop his successor.
But the crown was so tight on his head that he could barely crawl.
Wukong tried to shout his successor's name again, barely speaking due to pain. But suddenly his successor turned to him with a sad and regretful expression.
MK: "I'm sorry... It has to be me..."
Monkey King's screams grew louder as MK turned back to the pillar and entered it.
"MK NO! NO!"
. . .
The Great Sage woke up in his couch, covered in sweat. He looked around, breathing in panic.
He was at home, it was dark, and he had with him the paper figurines of his old friends that his successor and his friends had prepared for him.
Wukong sighed with relief when he realized that this was all a nightmare.
But he was sleepy, so he got up from the couch and first poured himself a glass of water and drank it.
Then, not knowing what to do, he started looking around and looking for something to distract him, but he couldn't find it. He didn't want to watch TV and the baby monkeys must be asleep at this hour.
He wanted to go to the window and look outside, but there was nothing of interest outside. He couldn't sleep after what happened, and every time he did, he always remembered the moment when his successor tried to sacrifice himself.
The voices echoed in his head again as he hit his forehead in frustration. The Great Sage shook his head to get rid of these memories.
Apparently, he wouldn't feel comfortable until he saw the kid.
The Great Sage opened the door, then called his cloud, jumped and then took flight.
But while he was flying, he suddenly noticed that Macaque was sleeping on a tree with the monkeys.
When he saw him like that, something strange happened inside him.
Normally he would never have cared about this, but after what had happened, did the fact that his brother was lying outside on the tree make him a little... upset?
Wukong shook his head violently again, trying to push these thoughts out of his mind, his focus should be on MK right now. Not in Macaque.
Once Wukong regained his focus, he continued flying towards Megapolis.
============
MK had woken up a few hours ago and was looking at the sky from the window and thinking about what happened.
After all these events, his condition had worsened.
As if his insomnia wasn't enough, unnecessary crying and absent-mindedness began to appear.
MK sometimes wondered what would have happened if Pigsy had let him stay on his break, or if Xiangliu had never woken him up.
Would the world be like this again? Better or worse?
He was a good hero, but after all this, what the curse of the scroll said, what Lady Bone Demon said to him, killing Azure, and now the facts he learned about his birth... It confused him.
While Monkie Kid was wiping another tear from his eye, he noticed a figure coming towards him from the window. When he frowned and used his Golden Vision, he realized that it was his mentor.
Why was he coming?
The young Harbinger was confused, but opened the window for him when his mentor came to the window and waved at his successor in a friendly manner.
Wukong: "Hello, bud. Can't sleep?"
While Wukong's tone remained friendly, MK just looked away and nodded silently.
While Wukong continued to smile sincerely at this, he suddenly grabbed his successor's arm and pulled him into his cloud. This surprised the Harbinger.
MK: "What are you-"
Wukong silenced his successor with his finger, then the two took off with the cloud.
When they were sufficiently airborne, the cloud slowly began to float in the air.
The city below wasn't exactly quiet. At this hour, either some of them were awake and testing their new powers, or some of the sleeping people could not control their powers and created an explosion of power.
While Wukong was trying hard not to laugh at their situation, he noticed that there was no smile on his little brother's face. Wukong let out a sigh, then placed a hand on his successor's shoulder.
Wukong: "Look kid, I know you think you're the reason the city is like this, but that's not true. You did the right thing, believe me..."
MK's lips trembled as he looked into his mentor's eyes. His eyes filled with tears as those memories flooded his mind again.
When Wukong noticed this, he hugged his successor with one arm and tried to comfort him. While doing this, he was trying to hold back his own tears.
Wukong: "Shhh... Shhh... It's over... It's over... Everything's okay... You're here... We're all here... We'll get through this together... I promise you..."
Wukong couldn't stop sobbing as he said this last word. He sniffled and let out a sigh as he wiped his teary eyes with his other arm.
Wukong: "Okay... Are you feeling better now, kid?"
When Wukong turned to his successor, he realized that he had fallen asleep on his shoulder. He was so innocent and peaceful while sleeping that the Great Sage couldn't help but smile at it.
Wukong: "Looks like someone fell asleep..."
Wukong chuckled softly to himself without waking the boy, then directed his cloud towards MK's house.
============
When Wukong arrived home, he placed his successor on the bed. Before leaving, he brushed a strand of hair from his face.
Wukong: "I really don't know why I chose you as my successor, bud... But I'm glad I chose you as my successor. I'm proud of you, kid..."
Before returning to Flower Fruit Mountain, Sun Wukong caressed his successor's hair one last time, then left with his cloud.

While Macaque was sleeping with the monkeys, he was turning from side to side, with an uncomfortable expression on his face.
Macaque let out a low growl as purple and orange energy crackled around him, followed by a voice echoing in his head.
"Stand by, my puppet.""It's almost time for you to wake up~"
