Suddenly reading a cheesy dark mystery novel, nuzzled in a way too comfy bed whilst it rained cats and dogs outside wasn't so bad after all.

With coffee as well, Asher could never leave that out. Emphasis on ‘never’.

Her phone rang and she frowned at its screen, rolling her eyes when she read the caller ID.

Video call, seriously?

With a huff, Asher very reluctantly answered and a familiar face filled her screen.

"Hola chica!" Laramie flashed her sweets smile  "I'm not interrupting something, am I?" She joked

Asher's frown deepened  "No"

"Ok cool—hey you're finally wearing that Owlie the bird onesie I got you!" Laramie exclaimed like it was an achievement.

Asher looked down at what she wore and in embarrassment, she raised the blanket up to her heck. "Why the hell have you called?"

"No reason. Just playing with ya!" She cackled

Asher gritted out  "Laramie... freaking get out of my screen right now..."

"Ugh, fine...I actually want to tell you something" Lara admitted with a grin, making Asker quirk a brow  "So, I don't want to be your friend anymore, babes. I'm done."

Asher felt the air leave her lungs for a second there  "What?"

"Yeah. Turns out, I'm moving on..." Lara was saying when a yawn cut her off

Asher blinked  " Is this another prank or..." She didn't even hear her voice crack

Lara rubbed her sleepy eyes  " Nope. I'm dead serious "

And she was.

Asher frowned,  " Why? "

Lara sighed  " Because... I'm losing my vibe being around you. You're nice to be with, don't get me wrong, I just am fed up"

"I am not understanding this, where's this coming from?"

Lara groaned in annoyance  "I've spelt it out for you. You'll be fine without me, I know..."

Asher stuttered, her eyes glossing over. She didn't even get a chance to get a word out when Lara hung up.

She stared at the now black screen, hot tears sliding down her cheeks unguarded.

Her mind was a haze, she was rummaging through her mind for any possible reasons or explanations. She couldn't believe that was real.

Because nobody ever video called to say that. It was different on a phone call but with you two face to face... Her heart broke and she felt the shards stab her lungs and kidneys.

It thundered outside, a clear reflection of the raging storm in her head right then.

She slid down till her back was pressed against the bed, staring up at the ceiling, devoid of life and colour, just like her soul.

She shut her eyes and let out sobs because she didn't know what to make out of anything or everything.

Loneliness joined her in the semi darkness of her room, it's calloused hands reaching out to her from all sides, she felt helpless, lost, dead.

She shut her eyes to make the feeling more realistic but her heart still raced. She still felt, it still hurt!

And she hated herself for that very reason, feeling.
