🌸🌸🌸"So, Jess you'll start, I'll second, Brian you fit yourself in and Asher...you could just add points where necessary" Arianne went over the plan.
The presentation came and went and because it was unworthy to be passed as a story people can read, she forgot all about it.
She walked into the next class and found a spot where she was rather withdrawn, she had to catch a nap this time. Perhaps the noise around would be noisy enough to scare her nightmares.
Not until someone took a seat next to her. "Oh no," they started to groan.
She glanced up in time to find the same blonde girl from days back. The one with her bratty friends. When the redhead locked in a heated glare, Asher rolled her eyes and faced forward.
"Ugh...I so hate you" she heard the girl mutter just when the next lecturer walked in.
"You don't even know me"
"Oh please, I could only know so much about Everest's new hit don't think we don't know about you two"
Asher turned sharply, her face serious "What?"
The girl had that Cheshire cat grin. "Me? Did I say anything?" She pretended to think with a light chuckle at the end "We know what you two have been up to, darkness"
Asher didn't know when her pen snapped in half, or when her knuckles whitened from her over firm grip.
Not only was this girl getting on her nerves, but there was a rumor spreading around CollU under her very nose!
And it was because of that jerk, Everest.
Asher sat through the class with her legs crossed tightly. She watched the small clock with eager eyes as her fingers tapped her desk.
When the class was over she was storming out of it.
It all made sense, she thought.
The prolonged-rather nasty-stares she received from a greater crowd of students as compared to her previous number, zero.
Professor Mikalsky too...and she supposedly believed in her!
There was no holding back what she had to say or do when she found that-
"-Wednesday!" She stopped mid stomp,
There he stood in his usual crowd, a girl with arms around him sending a mixed look of contentment and annoyance her way.
And like that, his boys along with at least everyone in CollU 's block D's main hallway turned.
She swallowed and took a second to stabilize her racing heart. She looked at the wall beside wondering why it wasn't sucking her in.
It was always a disappointing reminder of the past. How she always wished her bedroom walls would rescue her away from all the torture.
Everest walked over and somehow people watched eagerly as if waiting to see if truly the rumors were true.
"Are you hiding from me, Wednesday?" He asked when he was too close.
She stepped back on impulse.
He sniffed himself " Do I smell bad?" Then he checked his breath
What?! "No!...the hell??" Her cheeks exploded bright red.
And he just pretended like people weren't watching.
"Kay" he sighed in relief
"Listen, I don't know if it's about your shirt, I can totally get you a new one-"
"-What?-"
" -Just...I hate the way you yell out when you see me! Like dude, I didn't ask for the attention, I hate it!! Why did you keep making it look like we're friends, are we? No, you're on your lane and I'm on mine, why the hell can't you understand?! And now you've got a rumor brewing, what in the world is your problem?!" She took air and turned to the crowd " For the record, nothing is going on between us!"
He scrunched his brows in thought and glanced back to his pals then back "What rumors?"
Asher's nostrils flared
"Seriously, what rumors are brewing?"
Asher confusedly looked around the crowd again, at how everyone watched, the same blonde girl stood in the crowd, satisfaction on her face.
Then it clicked.
"Are you trying to make a name for yourself? Cause you so succeeded" he told her and left
"W-what did you want to tell me?" She called out like a pathetic loser.
"Just, forget it" and he walked past the boys. They went after and the crowd dispelled like nothing had happened.

It was later that day that professor Mikalsky called her over to know her project partner for the end of the year project.
Everest Miller.
She couldn't have guessed.
"Ma'am... I..."
"You cannot work with Everest Miller? I figured" she had a knowing smile "But you have to, for you grade"
Asher stared at the paper in her hands, wondering if this was what he'd wanted to get her to know all along.
If this was why he tried to get close, with all that unwanted attention.
"It's very technical. So both of you will have so much to learn so you can teach us that day. You know I'm looking forward to your performance, you need to get out of this invisible box you put yourself and if Everest won't do the job, I don't know who will"
She looked at the woman that somehow couldn't not notice her the very first day.
The day she came five minutes to the end of her class. From a 'see me' to this weekly motherly advice.
Out of everyone she knew only her believed she could have a good life.
That it was a phase, someone she would outgrow.
And so Asher put the papers in her bag and left the office, not even knowing where to start.
