I sat in the corner of my room feeding Lilliana as I watched Alexander stir awake in confusion sitting up in suspense but calming when seeing me in the black rocking chair.

"Where am I?" He asked rubbing his head, the sunlight out but the curtains closed.

"My home" I said simply as he groaned.

"Because that explains a lot"

"You don't need to know much more than that. I'm already compromising mine and my families safety with you being here" I mentioned as he looked at me.

"I am no threat, you should know that."

"I can't be so sure of that. If you weren't her father then I would have killed you long ago"

"I wouldn't underestimate that, but know that I would never hurt you or her" I looked at him curiously for a moment before standing and walking over to him softly handing over our daughter.

"Bond with her, you leave at dawn" I didn't give him a chance to respond as I tied my robe closed and left the room.

"How did that go?" My brother Isaac asked standing in the kitchen while I grabbed a cup of coffee.

"As I expected, he's confused. It'll stay that way, he doesn't need to know....exactly where we are"  hearing foot steps, we stopped the conversation as Xander approached.

"I hope you're aware that I do have some of the same capabilities that you all do." He mentioned as he came in empty handed. All 3 of us raising an eye brow at him.

"Ok stop that. It's just creepy and the more I look at you three the more I see a resemblance" Isaac being the first to break the silence.

"So you heard all of that" Xander sitting and looking at the three of us.

"I did, and I might not give a shit right now about where I am because I am have my mate and my daughter. But, I can't say how I'm going to feel about that at a later time" my hand coming up to stop him.

"You keep saying mate. What the fuck does that even mean?" I asked as he sighed.

"A mate is something all supernaturals have and it's exactly as it sounds. It's two that make one because they were made for each other. Werewolves have them, Fae have them, and vampires have them. The only difference is Vampires don't usually fine them and the feeling isn't as strong or drawing to one another, we can survive without ours. Usually, the touch is  electrifying or magnetizing."

"How can I be that to you when I don't feel those things and when you had no problem moving on to the next open opportunity? And I mean that loosely, very very loosely" Elijah fighting the urge to laugh at my dig towards Victoria, earning a glare from Xander.

"Because you're not exactly what I am. In a way you are but in a big way you're not. You have the ability to choose whatever mate you want depending on what your feelings are. That choice is up to you, just because you are chosen to me doesn't mean that it translates for you and the same goes for them as well."

"How do you know all of this?" Elijah making his presence known.

"We've done a lot of research since she's left and by we, I mean my brother, my counsel and myself."

"And?" He asked before looking at me

"Well, we weren't expecting 3 of you so that's something new but-" I stopped him

"I don't want to know anymore"

"Hails this could put a lot of pieces together for us-" Elijah tried to argue as I pushed away from the counter.

"I said stop. My life has been turned upside down too much for the last 11 years of my life, more so lately than before. I don't need nor WANT to have it be made worse by whatever explanation he is going to give" the more my anger rose the more they looked at me.

"Hailey"

"Not now Alexander" I snapped back

"HAILEY!" He yelled, his aura coming off.

"What?!" I looked at him.

"Your eyes are changing" not giving it a second thought I ripped open the kitchen curtain to see the reflection in the window. The sound of him falling from the chair didn't break my concentration as I looked at my eyes turn to a deep burgundy red from the dark chocolate they usually were, Elijah coming up behind me to see his doing the same.

"Close the curtain." Isaac stated as I was slowly pulled back and by a shaking Alexander that I shrugged off, warmth spreading in my body that I hated. Lilliana crying a moment later.

"I'll go get her" he suggested as I sat down.

"He needs to go"
