The next morning was chaotic, to say the least.
Waking up and realising that they had both fallen asleep on the couch, Harrison and Avery scrambled to get ready.
Avery groaned as she sat up, rubbing her eyes and glancing at the clock before bolting to her feet.
"We overslept!" she exclaimed smacking Harrison's arm a couple times to wake him up.
Harrison jolted awake and blinked his eyes repeatedly, trying to shake off the sleep.
"What time is it?" he mumbled groggily.
"Later than it should be," Avery replied, quickly getting to her feet and heading toward the bathroom, "we need to go!"
Harrison followed suit, rushing to gather everything they needed before they left the house.
"This is not how I imagined starting the day," he yelled out as he ran to the kitchen to make a quick breakfast for the both of them.
"I blame you," Avery's voice floated from the bathroom.
"Why is this my fault?" Harrison shot back as he poured coffee into a travel mug.
"You're the one who wanted to stay up for 'just one more game,'" Avery peeked out, toothbrush in hand.
"Hey, we won though, didn't we?" Harrison yelled back as the toast popped out of the toaster.
Avery didn't reply, rushing out of the bathroom and heading to their room to get dressed. She wasn't even sure what she was going to wear, she was planning on picking an outfit out last night, but that obviously didn't work out well.
Harrison quickly buttered the toast and ran to their room where he saw Avery frantically rummaging through her closet.
"Here," he said as he offered her a slice of toast.
"Thanks, but I don't have time to eat," Avery said, holding up two dresses in the mirror, trying to decide which one to wear.
"Take a bite at least," Harrison insisted, handing her a slice of toast as he glanced at the dresses. "The blue one," he added, pointing to the dress in her left hand.
Avery didn't even hesitate before tossing the other dress back into the closet. She took a quick bite of the toast before rushing to get dressed and fix her hair.
Harrison quickly changed into a navy dress shirt and black slacks, then grabbed Avery's shoes and handbag, placing them near the door.
He checked the time on his watch, knowing they were cutting it real close.
Avery ran out of the bedroom, fully dressed but still looking flustered.
Harrison handed her a travel mug and her shoes, then grabbed his own shoes and put them on before opening the front door.
"Ready?" he asked, grabbing the car keys.
"Let's go," Avery said, taking a deep breath as she grabbed her bag and they rushed out the door together.
"Your itinerary, and materials are in the car, right?" Harrison asked as they rushed to the car and unlocked it.
"Yeah," Avery replied, out of breath as she got into the passenger seat.
"Amazing," Harrison said as he turned on the car, buckled his seatbelt, and backed out of the driveway.
Avery fumbled with her bag as she looked for her phone, finally pulling it out and dialing her boss.
As the phone rang, she glanced at the time on the dashboard and breathed a sigh of relief, they would make it just in time.
"Yes, we're on the way. I have it, don't worry. They're not done setting up yet? Oh, okay." Avery replied hurriedly, responding to each of her bosses statements.
