George emerged from that cold, water-filled cellar. His clothes were drenched, and he felt a chill. He quickly grabbed his bag and shut the cellar door to prevent the water from rising further.
He looked up at the sky and found himself in paradise. No, he hadn't died; instead, he found himself inside a wooden house. He gasped as much as he could, inhaling air filled with dust.
But what mattered was that it wasn't the smell of rot. George lay on the ground, exhausted and tired. The sun was about to rise. George had spent the worst night of his life.
Moments later, his consciousness began to fade, and he closed his eyes. George dreamt of a happy day he had spent with his parents.
When he woke up, the sun was already at its zenith. George got up, and everything hurt, especially his head.
His hands were numb, and he was extremely hungry. George resisted this and thought about moving before the villagers found him.
But when he regained full consciousness, he found himself in an old place. He hurried to the window and realized he was in a house in the middle of the forest.
George felt a surge of happiness and said to himself, "No villager would dare enter the forest; I am safe." But he felt anxious at the same time, as he had broken another law of the Rogue Village, especially after being seen in the cell.
George decided to rest a bit. He took out the clothes from his bag to dry them but heard a cracking sound in the forest.
Instead of fear, George felt bored and started laughing, saying, "How long will this keep happening to me?" With indifference, George hung up his clothes and bag and went into the wooden house to search for something to eat, but all his food had gotten wet. He left the house in search of something to eat.
Deciding not to work too hard, he found some mushrooms under the colored and ordinary trees.
He remembered that his parents had always warned him against eating anything colored found in the forest, as most of them were poisonous.
The mushrooms weren't delicious, but better than nothing.
George returned to the wooden house to search it while his clothes dried and found some books.
He entered the first room, which seemed to be a kitchen, but found nothing. He went up to the first floor and found the first room with an old bed and a wardrobe.
He found some old clothes that were too big for him, but he put them on and took off his wet clothes. George searched the clothes until a button fell out.
The button was interesting, with its different shape and engravings, so he decided to keep it. Finally, he climbed to the attic. As usual, the door didn't open.
George had become skilled by now after facing all kinds of troubles. He examined the door until he managed to remove a part of it, and behind it was an engraving.
George realized he had seen this engraving before. He quickly went down to the ground floor and searched his belongings to find the puzzle piece he had brought from his parents' house.
