“Hell no!!… you can’t marry my son. I can not involve my son in this. He should not know any of this. He can’t even know about today,” Mrs Nyla angrily refuted. How on earth could she allow her son to marry this lady? She is an ex-convict after all. Maybe this was not her fault, but she just cannot allow this to happen.
“I knew you would naturally refute. I don’t want to get involved in your family either. This is the only way out. Do you think he will let me be when he finds out I have left this place? He would order his men to kill me the next second he finds out,” Maya angrily explained to Mrs. Sarah.
“What is your plan then?” asked Mrs. Nyla.
“Jeremy loves his son so much. All he did was because he wanted to get close to his son. If he finds out that his dear son is in love with me, he won’t lay a finger on me. Hurting me means hurting his son, so he would not dare,” Maya explained. Mrs. Nyla sat quietly, analyzing everything. Maya was right; Jeremy would not allow her to live after she left here, but the problem was how she was going to convince her son to marry this girl. After two minutes of silence, a smile suddenly appeared on her face.
“There is a way. I cannot force my son to marry you; he has to fall in love with you naturally. I can hook you two up and then allow the love to grow naturally. All you have to do is…” Before Mrs Nyla could finish, Maya interrupted her, “Your family affairs are none of my business. Whatever plan you have is none of my business. All I need is to get married to your son, then after everything is done, you will make him sign the divorce papers. I don’t care how you do it. That is none of my business.”
“Fine… I’ll handle everything, but my son doesn’t have to know about this.”
“Like I said, Lady, your family affairs have nothing to do with me,” Maya was so furious this time. This woman is so wicked. The only thing Jeremy wanted was for his son to acknowledge him, but this woman never allowed him.
“Thank you so much for your cooperation. I’ll come to pick you up tomorrow after you have been released, and we can take it from there,” Mrs Nyla said with a smile on her face and prepared to leave. Luckily for her, this conversation was successful. She can finally relax. There is no way she would allow that man to see her son. He is an evil man now and can’t bring bad luck to his family. Maya was taken back to her cell. All eyes were on her when she entered, but no one dared to ask any questions. Maya entered her cell and couldn't care less about these people.
“What happened?”
“She asked me to help her expose Jeremy,” Maya said and lazily laid on her bed. She was so tired after speaking to that woman. They spoke for an hour.
“And what did you say?” Lisa asked with so much care.
“I said yes, but she has to make me marry her son,” Maya said and smirked. The thought of getting married to Jeremy’s son made her smirk. She just couldn’t wait to see Jeremy’s face after he received this news.
“Why did you agree to this? For crying out loud, Maya, you need to stay aloof from that family. Sweetheart, your safety is a priority, okay?” Lisa was so worried, and it was evident in her eyes. All she wanted was for Maya to be happy. She has gone through enough already.
“Look, Lisa, I get you, but this is my only chance out. The opportunity came naturally, and I couldn’t say no. I need to get back all I lost. He has to pay for everything he did. I know what you are worried about. I’ll not fall in love with him. I just need him as a shield. Jeremy will kill me if I leave here, but if he gets to know his dear son is in love with me, he will not. I need to get out of here so I can revisit your case. This is an opportunity for us to be free again,” Maya said, hoping to convince Lisa. She held Lisa’s hand and looked straight into her eyes.
“Fine, I’ll let you go, but please promise me you’ll be safe. I have loved you as my sister from the day I saw you. You are a good and innocent person, and you don’t deserve this.”
“Fine, I’ll let you go, but please promise me you’ll be safe. I have loved you as my sister from the day I saw you. You are a good and innocent person, and you don’t deserve this. Be safe out there and don’t forget you can count on me for help any time,” Lisa said, firmly holding Maya’s hand.
“I promise I will. As soon as everything is over, I will revisit your case and get you out of here. That is a promise I am making to you.” Lisa nodded and hugged Maya. They both retired to their beds.
