Special Author's Note:

Where do I even begin...

Just a month ago, if someone had told me I would be pouring my heart into creating a story for the LingOrm fandom, I would have thought they were crazy. But here we are - 12 chapters in.

Reading all of your wonderful comments, both here in AO3 and Wattpad, especially for the previous chapter, has brought me an overwhelming sense of gratitude and joy, and it has truly warmed my heart. Did I cry? Yes, yes, your honor. Your comments are like lifeblood to me.

Even before I entertained the idea of writing a fan fiction, I was, first and foremost, a fan just like you. And so when most of you wrote "I want more, please" or "Please make this story longer," know that I see you. I feel you. I've been in your shoes, craving more of the characters and stories that capture our hearts.

Although this story has demanded so much of my time over the past month, it has also given me so much in return. I feel like I have made new friends here.

The characters of Fahlada and Earn, and by extension Ling and Orm themselves, have awakened something in me again. My own personal love story may not have its happy ending, but I'm grateful to be able to live and love vicariously through the version of Ling and Orm in this story.

And because you dear readers have shown so much love and support, I've decided to add a few more chapters. I'm not sure exactly how many just yet, but I'll work to incorporate them seamlessly into the overall story arc. I figure we could all use a little more heartwarming moments between Ling and Orm, don't we?

So, if you're ready to (hopefully) laugh, (I guess) cry, and (definitely) fall in love all over again, please don't go just yet.♥️

I'm so grateful for your support, and this is for all of you LingOrm fans out there.

=======

The first rays of dawn filtered through the curtains, painting the room in a soft, golden glow. Ling stirred slowly, her eyes fluttering open to a sight she'd dreamed of for months: Orm, peacefully asleep in her arms.

Ling had never slept better in her entire life, their bodies fitting together perfectly as if they were two pieces of a long-lost puzzle. Orm's sweet, familiar scent enveloped her, a comforting reminder of nights long past and the promise of many more to come.

For a moment, Ling simply basked in the warmth of their embrace, savoring the weight of Orm against her, the soft rhythm of her breathing. She traced her fingers lightly along Orm's arm, marveling at the softness of her skin.

As the sunlight grew stronger, gently insisting on the start of a new day, Ling knew they should get up. But Orm didn't stir, her face serene in deep slumber. A mischievous glint appeared in Ling's eyes as a memory surfaced - a scene from their show, where her character had woken Orm's with a playful bite.

Grinning, Ling leaned in and gently nipped at Orm's bare shoulder. When this elicited no response, she moved her attention to Orm's ear, teeth grazing the sensitive lobe. This time, Orm stirred, a slow smile spreading across her face even before her eyes opened.

"Mmm," Orm mumbled, snuggling closer to Ling. "Some things never change, do they?"

Ling's heart swelled with affection. "Good morning, teerak," she whispered, pressing a soft kiss to Orm's forehead.

Orm's eyes finally opened, still heavy with sleep but filled with unmistakable joy. Taking a line from her character as Earn, she replied, "Good morning, my heart," her voice husky from sleep.

As Ling gazed at Orm - hair tousled, eyes soft with lingering dreams, a gentle smile playing on her lips - she felt a rush of emotion so intense it almost overwhelmed her. This was Orm at her most vulnerable, most real. This was the Orm she'd fallen in love with, the Orm she'd missed so desperately.
