Alora woke up with a sense of dread clinging to her like a second skin. The memory of last night lingered—Dante Santoro’s eyes, intense and unwavering, bore into her mind, making her pulse race despite her better judgment. The man was every bit as magnetic as the rumors said, and that made him dangerous in more ways than one.

She tried to focus on the task at hand as she sipped her morning coffee, but her thoughts kept drifting back to Dante. No matter how much she tried to stay detached, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was in over her head.

The plan was simple: marry Dante, gain access to his accounts, steal the money, and disappear. Yet, the more she thought about it, the more the plan felt like a noose tightening around her neck.

A sudden knock on the door pulled her from her thoughts. Setting down her coffee, Alora hesitated for a moment before opening it.

Standing in the hallway was a delivery man, holding a bouquet of the most vibrant red roses she’d ever seen.

"Miss Alora?" the man asked, glancing at the name on the card.

"Yes, that’s me," she replied cautiously, accepting the bouquet.

As she closed the door, her eyes caught a glimpse of an elegant envelope nestled among the roses.

Curiosity and dread churned in her stomach as she retrieved it, the familiar feeling of being trapped gnawing at her.

Inside the envelope was a note written in bold, confident handwriting:

"Join me for dinner tonight. 8 PM. -Dante"

Alora stared at the note, her heart pounding. She knew this was her chance—an opportunity to get closer to Dante. But it also meant stepping further into a dangerous game she wasn’t sure she could win.

Her first instinct was to say no, to find a way to avoid this dinner, but deep down, she knew she didn’t have a choice.

Her phone buzzed just as she was about to set the note aside. The name

"Mina" flashed on the screen, sending a shiver down her spine. She knew Mina wouldn’t take no for an answer.

"Hello?" Alora answered, trying to mask her unease.

"Did you get the flowers?" Mina’s voice was cold and commanding, like a blade that sliced through Alora’s defenses.

"Yes," Alora replied, her voice a bit unsteady. "He invited me to dinner tonight."

"Good. You’re going," Mina stated, leaving no room for argument.

Alora clenched the note tightly.

"Mina, I’m not sure about this. What if—"

"What if what?" Mina cut her off sharply, her tone laced with impatience.

"You don’t have the luxury of second-guessing yourself, Alora. You know what’s at stake."

Alora’s breath caught in her throat. She knew exactly what Mina was implying, and it made her blood run cold.

"Mina, please, I—"

"No, Alora. You listen to me," Mina’s voice dropped, low and menacing. "You either go to that dinner and do your job, or your sister pays the price. Do I make myself clear?"

Alora closed her eyes, the weight of Mina’s threat crushing any resistance she had left.

"I understand," she whispered.

"Good," Mina replied, her voice softening just enough to sound almost reassuring.

"Remember, this is your chance. You get close to Dante, make him trust you, and get what we need. No emotions, no distractions. Do your job, and you can walk away from this."

The line went dead, leaving Alora staring blankly at the phone. She knew Mina wasn’t bluffing—her sister’s life was on the line, and Alora couldn’t afford to falter. But as much as she tried to steel herself, doubt and fear gnawed at her resolve.

A knock on the door pulled her from her thoughts again. She opened it to find Franklin leaning casually against the doorframe, his easy smile and relaxed posture a stark contrast to the turmoil brewing inside her.

"Morning, sunshine," Franklin greeted her with a grin that lit up the room, his tone as cheerful as ever.

"Did you survive last night, or did Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome already steal your heart?"

Alora rolled her eyes, but couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at her lips. "Barely. He sent me flowers this morning and invited me to dinner tonight."

Franklin's eyes widened in mock surprise as he waltzed into the room with exaggerated grace.

"Well, well, well, looks like somebody made quite the impression! And here I thought you were just going to blend into the wallpaper."

"Very funny," Alora muttered, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"This isn’t a joke, Franklin. I’m in way over my head. He’s… intense. And Mina, she’s not giving me a choice."

Franklin’s teasing demeanor softened, and he sat down beside her. "Look, I get it, Alora. This isn’t easy. But you’ve got this. You’re the best at what you do. Just keep your cool, stick to the plan, and remember why you’re doing this."

Alora nodded, but deep down, she wasn’t sure how long she could keep her emotions in check. The stakes were too high, and Dante Santoro was proving to be far more dangerous than she’d anticipated—not because of who he was, but because of how he made her feel.

"Hey," Franklin said, nudging her shoulder playfully. "You’re not alone in this, you know. If things get too heavy, just remember you’ve got me in your corner. We’ll get through this together, one flirty billionaire at a time."

Alora let out a small laugh, the tension in her chest easing just a little.

"Thanks, Franklin. I needed that."

"Anytime, darling," Franklin replied, standing up with a flourish. "Now, go knock his socks off tonight. And if you need me to swoop in and save the day, just give me a signal. Maybe a wink or a dramatic fainting spell—I’ve always wanted to play the hero."

As Franklin got his equipment ready to help Alora, Alora found herself smiling despite the weight of her situation. His humor and confidence were infectious, and for a moment, she almost believed everything would turn out fine.

But as she looked at the bouquet once more, the reality of what lay ahead settled over her like a heavy fog.

Tonight would be the first real step into a world she’d been warned about—a world where charm and power masked darker intentions. And she knew she had no choice but to face it head-on.
