connie kept his word. 10 minutes later, after passing through a vast area of empty land and hedges, and through a gated entrance, the pair pulled up in jean's large circular driveway.

"holy..." y/n leaned in to get a better view of the front of his home. "you could've told me jean was rich." she said, analyzing the obnoxious villa.

a marble statue fountain placed in the centre of the driveway, a large healthy lawn with pruned trees and various flowers on the side, thick white columns on each side of the wide steps and front doors.

"rich ain't even the word." connie shook his head, looking up at his best friend's house as if it was the first time he'd seen it. he noticed the friend in question on the rooftop sitting area, talking on the phone while smoking a cigar.

connie got a leg out of his car. "yurrrr!" he shouted really loud.

jean immediately heard the familiar sound, lowering his phone to look down at his driveway. connie and his car looked like an ant from how far down he was, yet jean still managed to see him. the white man grinned, shouting back with the same expression.

"go park in there, dude. reiner s'gonna get mad if he finds out your kept your car outside after his ceramic coating." jean ordered, waving his friend off.

connie got back in his car, driving to the garage. its door automatically slid up.

"cee...? i was told this was a barbecue." y/n's eyebrows furrowed in confusion... because why were there about a dozen cars already parked in the garage? and the black girl knew there were still people coming later.

"it is..." he exclaimed, getting the keys out the ignition after parking. "... just a very big one." connie innocently smiled, but y/n wasn't smiling at all.

"give me one good reason why i shouldn't smack you right now." she crossed her arms, already starting to get nervous about being around too many people.

"you can, but you'll have to kiss it better after." he grinned, cutely batting his eyelashes at her.

"nigga, hush." she joking rolled her eyes, turning her face away from his flirtatious hazel eyes.

"don' worry 'bout it. if you ain't feelin' it then we leavin'. no questions asked, 'kay?" he softly said, placing his hand on hers and soothing it with his thumb.
