All the members of PANM were working relentlessly, their focus razor-sharp, driven by the urgency of the investigation. Yet, amid this flurry of activity, Detective Arjun remained an enigma. While the others pushed themselves to the limit, Arjun appeared to take a step back, but this was merely a strategic move.

Detective Arjun assigned tasks to the PANM members, dividing them into two groups of fifteen. Detective Vikram led the first group, tasked with gathering crucial information from the crime scenes—details like the timing of deaths, connections between the victims, and any available CCTV footage. Meanwhile, Officer Karan Malhotra headed the second group, responsible for interrogating local residents about the incidents and combing through Naroda for any unusual or suspicious clues.

With the teams deployed, Arjun took a seemingly unusual approach. He requested a seven-day leave, ostensibly to rest. However, without informing anyone, he began his own investigation, moving through Naroda with deliberate secrecy. His first stop was one of the six water towers in the area. Arjun spent an hour meticulously observing the tower and its surroundings, taking photos and jotting down notes. This process was repeated at all six towers, consuming two days of his time.

During his investigation, Arjun discreetly asked Rahul, a trusted colleague at PANM headquarters, to secure an updated sewage map of Naroda. Rahul delivered, and with the map in hand, Arjun continued his quiet exploration.

Next, he visited Karai Dam in Ahmedabad, a location he returned to six times over four consecutive days. Each visit was the same—he spent two hours observing the dam, taking photos, and making notes. His journey then led him to Gandhinagar, 16 kilometers away, where he visited the renowned 333 Kinder Orphanage. As he wandered through the orphanage, memories from his past case—one that had left deep scars and led to his professional isolation—flooded his mind. The connection between that orphanage and the case haunted him.

After his trip to Gandhinagar, Arjun returned to Naroda and went straight to his room at PANM headquarters. There, he began piecing together the puzzle. He pinned the sewage map of Naroda onto his investigation wall, followed by the images of the six water towers and Karai Dam. Sticky notes with cryptic observations surrounded the images. He stared at the wall for what felt like an eternity, then, with sudden purpose, began pinning points on the map seemingly at random.

Exhausted, Arjun eventually fell asleep. When his initial leave ended, he requested another week off, citing the lack of progress from the investigation teams as a reason. This move sparked tension—Officer Karan Malhotra openly opposed the extension and taunted Arjun for what seemed like avoidance. But Arjun, true to form, ignored the criticism and walked away.

During the next three days, Arjun isolated himself in his room, meticulously reviewing the information Detective Vikram's team had gathered—details about the families living in Naroda and the victims who had perished. Then, without warning, Arjun's behavior shifted. He became visibly nervous and anxious, driven by an urgent need to gather information about two seemingly random fifteen-year-old boys and their families. The transformation in his demeanor was startling; never before had anyone seen the unflappable Detective Arjun so rattled.
