"I am going to rip her head off!" I yelled as I walked into the family and friends room during the first intermission of the game against Detroit. It's the last game in an eight game home stretch, I have been so over worked and I just want to sit and do nothing for four days straight. Thankfully, the guys are gone for six games straight, so I'm going to have the house to myself for almost two weeks.
"Okay, calm down there, Sky. What happened?" Dani, Troy Terry's wife, asked me as she heard my outburst. It caught a few of the girls' attention.
"Katie. I wish I could just fire her, but her flirting with my husband is not a good enough reason, and I'm just asking for a lawsuit if I do that."
"What happened? Has she gotten worse?" Tiffany, Alex Killorn's fiancé asked as she came over to us. I've ranted to the girls about her before, but at this point I was just so far gone that I was yelling.
"Even though Jamie has been back in the game since we started this home stretch, Katie has almost been worse." I started. "Like, 'Oh I miss hanging out with Jamie, Oh he looks so good in warm ups, oh I miss seeing his suits every game, oh I miss him helping out he was so good with us.'" I exclaimed, mocking her with a high pitched voice.
"Someone sounds jealous." Tiffany said in a sing song voice.
"I'm not jealous. I'm just pissed off. Like does she have no respect for anyone? That's what I want to know. Yes, I'm aware Jamie is super attractive, trust me I know. I married him! But God, even if the roles were reversed I could not imagine saying shit like that and acting the way she does to a married man! A taken man I don't care!" I grabbed some pretzels from the bowl on the buffet and started eating them.
"Why do you care so much? You know he loves you, you have nothing to worry about." Alexa, John Gibson's wife said.
"I don't know. It just bugs me." I told her.
"I just don't know if I understand where you're coming from on this one, Skyler. We all deal with these girls trying to hit on them, I don't think any of it has ever bothered us this way. What's the real problem with this?" Dani asked.
"She's more exciting than I am, she's prettier than I am. I feel like as soon as Jamie learns more about her and gets to know her better, he's going to pick her over me." I said, after waiting a few minutes to respond to them.
"Skyler, he's not going to do that. I have never seen someone love another person the way Jamie loves you, and always has." Tiffany said.
"I know he does. I guess his reaction to it all kind of bothered me too. And now that he's not around for it anymore and I have to deal with it all myself, it's like she's just trying to rub it in my face."
"You told us that one day she was flirting with him, trying to touch him and then went into a closet and he fucked you. I truly don't think you have anything to worry about." Tiffany said.
"Does it bother you when the fans or anyone else tries to flirt with him?" Alexa asked.
"No! And that's why I don't understand it!" I exclaimed. "I mean, I am so very aware that I'm the one who gets to go kiss him and be with him for the rest of my life, we made that vow to each other, he's mine forever. But what if it doesn't stay that way? It's almost been four years, what if he gets bored of me?" I asked.
"He won't get bored of you, this is just your over-thinking." Dani said.
"For no reason, may I add." Alexa added.
"I know. I just don't know what to do, I want her gone but we still have to deal with her for half of the season." I told them.
"You know what we're going to do? What are your plans for tomorrow night? The guys are heading to Nashville in the morning, we're all alone. Want to do dinner? We'll go out, have a girls night." Tiffany suggested. The four of us looked around at each other.
