Another Life

Chapter 5

Felicity is in her usual spot...watching the TV on the couch when there's a knock on her door.
That makes her groan at the thought of getting up before she forces herself up and opens the door. There stood Buck
With a bag of food, breakfast, she assumes.

"Oh, Hey!" She let's Buck into her apartment. Buck makes his way in, heading towards the kitchen to set the bag of food down on the counter.

"So I brought breakfast." Buck starts  Felicity grabs the bag and takes out the wrapped up food. "I can see that. That's why you're my favourite, " Felicity tells Buck. "What's mine?..oh, this is definitely mine. " She takes the food wrapped up labelled 'BLT'.. "And what if that's not yours?" Buck jokes. "Well then, too bad, should've been quicker," Felicity says back. Buck laughs, taking what is actually his.

They take a seat on the couch "Anyway did I hear you groan when I knocked?" Buck asks. "Yeahh, I knew it was you." Felicity can't help it. It was an opportunity she couldn't miss.
"You love it, I bring you food, my company what more could you want," Buck says. Eating his breakfast sub.
"I can't argue with the food part," Felicity says. They both continue to eat.

As they finish Felicity phone rings. It's Athena. Bit odd. She doesn't normally ring.

"Hey Athena, Whats up?." Felicity answers. "Hey, so I've just been on a case, and it's not good," Athena speaks.
"Right..Do you need my help?" Felicity questions. Siting up.
"No, just.. Do you know Stephan West? " "Unfortunately, why? What's he done?" Felicity asks." Athena pauses. "He hasn't done anything. He was found dead, beaten up." Felicity is in shock."What?" Fidling with her necklace, She didn't like him at all, but it's still a shock when someone you know is found dead.

Buck can't hear what Athena is saying but has noticed the change in Felic.
He reaches for her hand, gripping it gently.  Felicity squeezes his hand to say,'I'm okay'.

Athena continues, "The detective isn't sure of all the details yet. They only know it's him because of his ID"
"That's terrible." Felicity hears noise in the background. "Felic, I have to go. Talk soon, " Athena hangs up before she can say anything.

Felicity explains to Buck what's happened. "I mean, the guy was a dirt bag. He probably messed with the wrong person, " Buck says "Yeah I know, " Felicity replies. "Well.." Buck slaps his hands on his legs."I'm spending the day with you..what we doing now?." He says, trying to lighten the mood. Felicity smiles at the obvious distraction.

"Looks like you're stuck watching Married at first sight." Felicity knows Buck isn't a fan even though he's never seen it. "Oh no..literally anything..please anything but that," Buck pleads.

Felicity laughs so much at Buck complaining and still puts it on.

Later on, Buck declares they're going out to 'Rileys' for dinner. Knowing how she can't resist the offer of food and not having to cook anything.

"I haven't been here for a while," Felicity tells Buck. Sitting down at a booth.
"Yeah, me either," Buck says. "What are you ordering...wait, let me guess," he pretends to think "a big fat juicy burger and fries." Felicity stomach rumbles at that. She fake gasps. "How did you know?" They start laughing, and then a waiter comes over to take their order.
"Buck, on a serious note. I just want to thank you for today, " Felicity tells him.
"It's okay, I'm happy being with you. We always have a great time, " Buck replies.

About half an hour later, Maddie and Chim walk by and stop when they notice Felicity and Buck.
"Hello!, are you two on a date?" Maddie asks before they can even explain. "No," they both say at the same time.
Buck continues, "a friendly date...wait..no not date.. just two friends having dinner." Felicity struggles to keep her laugh in as Buck stumbles over his words. Laughing into her hand, Buck hears her giggle and looks over to her "Stop" Buck tells her, which makes her laugh more, waving her hand. "I can't..'" she continues to chuckle. Buck turns back to maddie, grinning a little. "What are you guys doing here? Where's Jee?" He asks.
"She's with mom and dad.." "wait..mom and dad are here" Buck interrupts her "Yeah I was just as surprised as you are, they showed up, told us to have some us time and so we came here" Maddie replies.
"Anyway talking about Jee, we better go. Have fun on your 'friendly date, not date,'" Chim says, making fun of Buck. Maddie laughs as they walk on.
"Yeah, thanks, Chim, bye."
They all say bye.
