This AU, created by NewLostIslands and myself, is based around the War of 1812. During the War of 1812, Michigan was captured by the British but returned at the end of the war with the Treaty of Ghent. This AU explores what would happen if that was not the case, and instead, Michigan stayed in British hands as a British colony and eventual Canadian province.
Reading my oneshot, "The Time Spent In a Gilded Cage," might provide some context, but it is not required to understand the oneshots of this AU.
