Entering the cafe, she was greeted with a warm smile, "how many people?" a young lady in her twenties asked the girl who has just entered.
"Table for two" a dry voice answered back with no expression on her face, but without caring about the cold attitude shown by the customer, the waitress showed the girl her table.
"Let me know, when you are ready with the order", once again the waitress spoke and was ready to leave, but was stopped, "one cup of hot chocolate and a cup of black coffee", the waitress passed a smile and left after giving a bow.The cold looking girl just sat there without minding anything or anyone, despite being physically present, her mind was somewhere else, there was this gamut of emotions inside of her which she has successfully kept inside for long, but this all is making her more and more numb, she just wants it to end but it won't... it won't, till she finally does what she has come here for.
She came out of her thoughts after realizing someone sat in front of her, the familiar face looked at her with concern, but didn't say anything. He waited for her to speak, for once he wanted her to open up and share what's inside her, but somewhere he knew that's not going to happen, he waited and... waited but no word came out of her mouth.
Letting out a sigh, he finally asked, "Why did you come back?" the deep voice contained some warmth in it. He knew the young girl sitting in front of him has went through a lot already and her decision of coming back to the place which contains nothing but pain to her was confusing him.
"Did you do it?" Her cold voice questioned back, she knew the guy sitting in front of her is her well-wisher and only wants the best for her and deep inside, she does cares about him, but... it's hard... hard for her to be the same bubbly girl she use to be.
He looked at her for a few seconds with a hurt expression, knowing that he has lost the girl, who once use to be his biggest cheerleader. He continued looking at her while pulling out a folder from his black leather bag, the folder was not very big, it contained only few papers. Putting the folder on the table, he gently slid it towards her.
The young girl took it in her hands and started analyzing it.Letting out a snicker he questioned, "Eden, do you still doubt me?", his voice came out in a mocking tone.
"Just because you are my cousin Altan, doesn't mean I will trust you blindly... I haven't forget what you did to me." The last sentence came out as a whisper but the bitterness was still audible. After her last sentence, Altan didn't utter a word and stayed quiet, he didn't want to justify his past actions... at least not now. After five minutes of analyzing, Eden kept the papers back in the folder and looked at her cousin, who was silently sitting while looking down. If it was the past her, she would have tickled him down without caring about the people sitting inside but...
"Here is your order" the same sweet voice reached near her table and kept the order on the table, Altan's eyes shined a bit after seeing hot chocolate, he didn't think that she would remember his likes and dislikes, but how wouldn't she... after all he was the only younger sibling she had, someone with whom she spent the most time after her... sister.
They both picked their cups and started drinking, while drinking he decided to ask the question which has bothered him the most.
"Why did you shift you University branch from Orlin to Glenwood?. I mean, it's your final year and all of a sudden you decided to shift the branches... doesn't make sense, it all doesn't make sense to me", he asked and looked at her for a split second, anticipating a response, but once again he didn't receive any answer. So, he decided sit there silently and enjoy his drink.
After finishing their drinks, Eden paid for them. Altan wanted to oppose, but being the younger one, he knew he didn't really have a say in it.
