He and his uncle were the first two people the original owner met in the story who helped him out of this place. They acted as guarantors to confirm that he wasn't part of the bandits.

The original owner wasn't from this village. He had only stayed there for about a week and hadn't met anyone else except for Old Miro.

Old Miro had shown him pity and provided temporary shelter. Since Old Miro lived alone, sharing the house with him wasn't a problem.

Old Miro, who was disabled and had only one leg, rarely went out. He supported himself by doing folk healing massages and receiving help from the village.

When the bandits came, the original owner was out for a stroll and didn't know what happened to Old Miro. The story didn't mention it because the original owner felt no pity or guilt towards Old Miro.

He viewed the old man as someone who should have done more for him, seeing him as a lower-class person who was illiterate and of little worth.

The original owner never thought of Old Miro again and left with the pair of uncle and nephew soldiers as soon as he met them. Aria was frustrated by this misplaced ego. The original owner seemed to forget that without Old Miro, no one would have helped him or allowed him to stay in their house as a stranger.

Aria will check on the poor old man as soon as he can. He needs to first trick the two soldiers because he requires a guarantor. Being new to the village and having arrived only a week before the bandits raided, the situation is suspicious. Even though the original owner had nothing to do with the bandits, the army might find it hard to believe.

Also, confirming his identity with the remaining survivors seemed unlikely due to their reluctance to come out from their hiding place. Even if they did, they might not be able to identify him. It was clear that his situation was precarious. After all, he was new here and had no connections.

The young soldier is named Jun of Karan. He doesn't have a last name since only nobles have them.

Regular citizens like villagers usually use the name of their village to differentiate themselves. If two people in the same village have the same name, they will use their father's name to distinguish between them. It's an odd but interesting custom.

Although he is a soldier, it's hard not to think of him as a kid. In this world, getting married at 14 is actually normal. Due to poor living conditions, lack of education, and social constraints, family lines need to be continued, as the average lifespan is often not more than 40 years. In poor farming villages, reaching the age of 40 is considered a blessing. Given this context, it's not surprising that a young man who recently got married and is now at war is so young.

Aria Jin turned his gaze to the other soldier standing a few meters away.
