He sat on his bicycle, he pushed off, the rhythmic sound of the rubber tires that hummed against the asphalt with the chains gleezing grinding and clicking sound providing a soothing backdrop to his thoughts. As he rode, he couldn't help but glance at the houses he passed, thinking each one could somehow hold a potential solution to his problem.

As he was enjoying a great ride, Arkai found himself in front of a familiar building—the place that used to be his home a few years ago. Memories were flooding back as he stared at the windows, each one holding a story from his past, his eyes following the path to look through all around the building, his name written on the wall, the shabby muddy marks of the balls hitting the wall. The world had blurred around him. His sneakers left the contact of the pedal as he squeezed brakes and his feet made a touchdown on the gritty pavement to bring the cycle to a halt. Lost in his reverie, he almost missed the girl perched on the window sill, whose world was probably blurred as she was engrossed deeply in a random comic book.

Startled out of his thoughts, he tried to pedal away, but his distraction because of the girl and memories proved to be a little more costly than he must've thought. A sudden thud, he had collided with a man just stepping out of the building. The impact sent them both sprawling, the man clutched his leg in pain.

The girl, witnessing the accident, was instantly furious. "HEY! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY DAD?"...It was her dad... That man... was her dad"Elenika, Stay calm, it's nothing big" She rushed down to check on her injured father, shooting accusing glares at the cyclist. The young boy felt guilty and ashamed. He wanted to apologise and explain, but the words were caught in his throat..
