Alsephina

I woke up hot and sweaty this morning and all because of that damn Gabriel Garcia. Next time, I am not going to look at his photo or do work regarding him at night. I've not had this kind of dream for a long time and this man manages to do that just by his picture. This is the fact that gets me more agitated.
Getting ready for my office, I leave my apartment and catch a cab.

As I reach my desk, Killian's personal assistant, Belle, is already standing there. The moment she sees me, she smiles,

"Good morning Alsephina, How are you this morning?", she says.

"I'm good, Belle. Frankly, could really use some sun in this chilly weather." I reply rubbing my hands together.

"So, I came here because Killian asked me to tell you to meet him as soon as you arrive at the office.", Belle types something on her tablet while telling me.

"Sure, I'll just go there right now.", I drop my purse and other things on my desk and make my way towards Killian's office.

I knock on the door to which he replies, "Cone in" and enter his office. He looks up from his computer and says,

"Good morning, Alsephina. Have you completed your research for the press conference?", Killian asks.

"Good morning, Killian. Yes, my research is complete and I put together the important information about the articles about the male, female lead and the director and author in my notepad so I can collectively use that information to prepare the questions for tomorrow." I explain to him.

"Good, that was smart thinking. Now by the end of the day, I want you to prepare the questions and go through them with me once so that I can also get an idea and send it to the editors team for a tagline." he says while looking at me intently.

"Sure, I will do that. If that is all, I will get back to work now." I say.

"That will be all. And Alsephina..," he says when I am about to leave his office, "You are a very hard working and talented person. I want you to ace this press conference tomorrow." he says smiling.

"I will not let you down. I promise." and with that I leave his office to get back to work.

I open the notepad on my laptop where I copied all the important materials to prepare for the questions and start reading it.

First, I open the article about the author and the book and read through it. One particular paragraph catches my attention and I read it carefully,

"The novel, 'My Fault' by Reese Carter is a story in which both the male and female protagonists are supposed to be step-siblings. The male protagonist's mom falls in love with the female protagonist's dad and they want their children to live together cordially. But they both have other ideas and eventually fall in love with each other. As much as the story line feels taboo, it is still to be seen if the audience likes it on the big screen or not."

My eyebrows shoot up as I think about it myself. It is an interesting concept. So I write the questions that will be directed towards the author of the book and move forward.

Next, is the director of the movie, Jacob Mills, world renowned director at the age of thirty-seven, who is said to be very sincere and hard working during a project. An article about something being his first time catches my eye and I focus on that,

"Jacob Mills, who is said to be a world renowned director, has decided to finally dabble in romantic films. His debut in this genre is of the movie adapted from the novel of this year's best selling author of the book 'My Fault', Reese Carter. While Jacob is known to do action films with a great storyline, this will be his first time to shoot a romantic film. We hope that the director accomplishes the same with this film as he has from his previous works."

I write the questions that are supposed to be for the director, some about his previous works and also regarding his time shooting this film.

I scroll down and then see the articles about the female lead for this movie, Natalie Walsh. I look at her picture and she looks absolutely gorgeous in them. Chocolate brown hair, grey eyes, pointed nose and full lips with a dusting of freckles on her cheeks and above her nose. She is truly beautiful. I scroll down further and read, finding a paragraph about her accomplishments,

"Natalie Walsh, who has been a child actress and worked in the industry for more than five years is now set to launch her career as the female lead in the movie 'My Fault' which is adapted by the novel of the best selling author, Reese Carter. This being her first film as the female lead, has gotten the audience excited and her fans delighted to watch her on the big screen. Natalie who is twenty three, started her career as a child actress and has been in the industry ever since doing many roles. This is her first main lead role."

I write my questions about her as well, but as I scroll down something catches my eye and I read that as well,

"Amidst the shooting, the lead actors of the film, 'My Fault' were seen hanging out together and getting cosy with each other which looked a lot more than friendly. Has shooting together in the movie made both of them fall for each other?"

As I read the lines, there is a knot of unease in my stomach, but I ignore it and write questions about it as well.

Moving forward, the last that remains is the male lead, Gabriel Garcia. I read through the articles and scroll down, when something catches my eye. An article that is dated back to 2007.

"Famous actor, Antonio Garcia's house was spotted with police cars in front late at night. Reportedly, someone tried to barge in when nobody was there except their seven year old son. In panic, the intruder tried to drown his son, Gabriel, in the pool but failed. Gabriel is now safe and is being attended by the doctors. His mother was in a state of shock when she saw her son, but now is in better condition."

I cover my mouth, but a gasp escapes. I instantly feel bad for the seven year old boy who had to experience such a traumatic event. I read more articles about him and see that, his mother died five years ago in the month of May followed by his father after a couple of months. The doctor said that he died from a broken heart. He seemed to love Mrs. Garcia very much. There is a paragraph that I read,

"The famous actor, Antonio Garcia, died today. It has only been a couple of months since his wife, Aubrey Garcia, died due to unforeseen circumstances. The doctors say that he died from a broken heart. It was very evident that he loved his wife very much. Their son, Gabriel Garcia, is heartbroken and will not be seen in the public eye for a few days which was said by his manager."

I see that the screen has become blurry and I realise that I am on the brink of tears, but I control them. Going on further, I write questions and focus on the news relating to the movie. Reading further, I see the image of Gabriel, but with some other girl. I open the article and see a tall blonde girl hanging off his arm as they both enjoy the stroll in a park. The article says,

"Gabriel Garcia spotted with his rumoured girlfriend, Stella Cruz, enjoying a sunny day out together. Reportedly, they are getting serious in their relationship and want to move forward."

But then, there is another article stating their break up,

"The famous couple of the industry, Gabriel Garcia and Stella Cruz have broken up due to personal reasons and do not wish to disclose them. Reportedly, they were having differences from a very long time and in the end decided to part ways. Having dated for two years, it's sad to see them part ways."

This article was from a couple of years ago and I write about it. Coming towards a recent article, I come across another paragraph that says,

"Gabriel Garcia is again in the spotlight after signing the film 'My Fault' and is now rumoured to be in a relationship with co-actor, Natalie Walsh, as they were spotted getting cozy with each other. Rumors say that they met during the shooting and found a liking towards each other."

I jot down the questions regarding him and look at the clock hanging at the nearby wall realising that it's already time for lunch.

I head to the cafeteria feeling content that I have prepared well for tomorrow.
