"Ah, Betsy." Alexander laid next to her on their marital bed. They had just officiated their marriage. "You are truly something."

She was laying to next to him. They agreed to separate beds, but tonight would be a little different. "You live up to the name, Petit Lion."

He giggled like a little girl, covering his mouth. "Well, I think the size of my nose is up to date, is it not?"

"Very much so." She kissed his freckled nose, then the other one. It went up. "I think it's ready for another ride."

Although exhausted, a man usually thinks with his nose rather than with his mind. "I am too."

----

John had just made the big one. He was able to escape that loyalist jail with his head and had just returned from bass.

"Welcome back, Laurens. I'm glad to see you made it in one piece." Washington was the first one to greet him with a grin and hand shake.

He bowed. "The pleasure is mine, sir. Where is-"

"-Hamilton is away. I'm quite surprised he hadn't informed you."

"I don't usually read his letters. He writes as if he's running out of time." Truth be told, he did read those letters. It was the only thing keeping his spirits up. Besides, he always gets a kick out of the desperation of the other experiences when he doesn't respond.

He raised his eyebrow, his old face moving with it. "Hamilton is currently enjoying his wedding night." He saw the other stand up straight from the bow, his face dropped. "I'm terribly sorry you weren't able to know, I'm sure those redcoats kept you plenty busy. However, I was aware that he did try to invite you, he tried to invite all of us. Only Marquis Lafayette was able to attend."

"Oh, I see." His voice was higher than what he would've liked. "May you excuse me, sir."

"You are excused."

He walked out, slowly closing the door behind him. Hamilton got married. It was for the best anyway. Maybe his plague will go away. He'll be saved.

---

It was the longest time for Laurens. It took so long for Hamilton to arrive. But when he did, the whole crew heard him before they saw him.

"I did it, boys. The tomcat got married." All the men cheered and shook his hand as he walked in, head high. "She's truly the one for me!"

Afterward, he went back to Laurens, who was writing.

"Welcome back, Jackie." He put his stuff down and began to unbutton his uniform. "You look well."

He didn't look up. He would turn a bright pink if he did. "You as well." From the corner of his blue eye, he could see that his dear boy looked a bit fuller. "She fed you well, I assume."

"Oh, yes!" He laughed. "She makes excellent Dutch dishes. Pea soup is surprisingly delicious, Laurens." He smirked as he threw his clothes on the cot. "I ate something else there as well."

Already turning pink, he looked up. Hamilton laughed again. "You really are a tomcat, are you?"

It hurt John to see him so cheerful with someone else, but he was cured. Only he will be thrown into hellfire, not the other. If only his marriage worked, yet even with a child, he still cannot fight those unearthly desires.

But apparently, neither could the other. He kissed his cheek. The taller shot up, scaring him.

"Hamilton, no! You're still sick!" He saw his confused face before crumbling, his face in his trembling hands. "Dear God, you will go to Hell!"

His face soured. "So?"

"So?!" He grabbed him by his shoulders. "You are sick, and I have given it to you!" He let out a deep sob. "I'm so sorry! What have I've done!"

He grabbed him. "Laurens, stop it now! I don't regret love. If I may descend to Hell, may I be in a place full of Elizabeths and Johns!"

"Alexander..." He sighed as he felt a kiss on his cheek. "No.."

He was smiling ear to ear. "Yes."

He began to walk off. The other was beside himself, crying and gasping.

"You are the next victim, I'm afraid..." He turned to him as he opened the door to head out to bathe in the lake.

He turned to him, tears shining in those beautiful eyes of his. "Then may we infect the whole world with love."
