"Vanity? What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at camp?" Adrian's voice rang out, filled with shock as he walked into the room and caught sight of me. His gaze shifted to Logan, and his expression only grew more bewildered. "Logan?" he repeated, disbelief etched across his face.

I stepped forward, holding up the bundle of papers with my name on it. "Why is my name on this file?" I demanded, my voice firm, "And why does my surname match with someone named Lucifer Zades?"

Adrian's shoulders slumped as he looked between us, a heavy sigh escaping his lips. The truth was written all over his face—he knew he couldn't hide this from us any longer.

"I have something to tell you," I said to Oz, my voice barely above a whisper. He raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued but masked by a hint of skepticism.

"I'm infertile," I confessed, my heart pounding in my chest.

"That's not possible," Oz replied immediately, shaking his head. "It was foretold. You were supposed to bear my child."

"I went to the witch doctor—" I began, but he cut me off.

"Without me?" he interrupted, his brows furrowing in frustration.

"Just—" I took a deep breath, fighting back tears. "Just listen, please." I pleaded, my voice breaking. "It's been confirmed. I can't have your child."

His face softened for a moment before disbelief took over. He seemed lost in thought, then his eyes suddenly widened as if a realization had struck him. "Your eggs," he said, almost to himself.

"What?" I asked, confused.

"The eggs we froze," he continued, his voice more urgent now. "Not Lorraine's, but Seraphina's—your past self, before you died."

The weight of his words hit me like a tidal wave. The past I thought I'd left behind was reaching out, intertwining with my present in ways I never imagined.

"So, everything was a lie?" I asked, my voice thick with disbelief as I sank into the couch. Logan sat beside me, listening intently, his face mirroring my confusion and pain.

"Where are my parents now?" I pressed, feeling a desperate need to understand.

"They'll be there," Adrian replied calmly.

"But what if they don't come?" I continued, anxiety creeping into my voice. "They haven't seen me in so long. What if they don't care?"

Adrian sighed deeply. "As much as I despised your father," he began, his tone softening, "if there's one thing I admired about him, it was his unwavering and unconditional love for his family. He has relentlessly tried to find both of you. I promise, they care more than you can imagine."

Logan leaned forward, his eyes narrowing with determination. "And what happens when he does show up?"

Adrian hesitated for a moment before answering. "That is for the council to decide, but I promise to do my best to acquit him."

I looked between Adrian and Logan, my mind racing. "What happens when they find out about him?" I asked, referring to Logan.

Adrian's expression grew more serious. "Whatever verdict is passed on you will extend to your siblings as well, as long as you can convince the jury that you pose no threat—especially during the Red Moon."

"And what if we can't?" Logan asked, his voice barely a whisper, fear creeping into his usually confident tone.

Lucifer dropped the phone, his hand trembling as it slipped from his grasp while he was talking to Gabriel. Concern flooded through me as I watched his shoulders tense, his breath quickening.

"Lucifer?" I called softly, picking up the phone from the floor. I pressed it to my ear, my voice tight with worry. "Gabriel, what's going on?"

"It's about your daughter," Gabriel began, and instantly, my heart pounded in my chest. My eyes widened, and I turned to look at Lucifer, his back still facing me.

"It's funny, isn't it?" I said, looking up at Oz. "As powerful as I am, an original vampire who can heal in mere seconds, yet the vampire clans have such a hard time reproducing. That's why they end up siring orphaned children instead." I let out a small, bitter laugh.

"Hope isn't lost," Oz replied, his eyes steady on mine. "We've been given a second chance—at love and a child."

I sighed, feeling the weight of centuries of longing. "Are you sure you can't heal my womb?" I asked him, my voice tinged with a desperate hope.

He shook his head gently. "The energy it takes to create a life is beyond anything we can manipulate. Even the greatest among us can't harness that essence. It's a gift only our maker can provide," he explained. "I believe there's a reason why it was ripped out of you," he added softly.

"But we have hope," he continued, his voice steady and reassuring. "We can fertilize the eggs today, and when you're ready, we can proceed."

A surge of determination coursed through me. "I want to do it today," I said firmly, meeting his gaze to show him I wasn't acting out of desperation. I was ready.

Oz stepped closer, his presence warm and steady. I looked up into his green eyes as he gently brushed a strand of hair away from my cheek. "I want your baby inside me," I whispered, my voice barely above a breath. I saw a flicker of something intense in his eyes—a blend of desire and hope—before he leaned down to press a slow, lingering kiss on my lips, full of unspoken promises.
