Ningjing POV
It's been three days since, now is the night of the third day. I've been meditating three hours a day in secret (six hours of sleep and three hours of meditation) ever since. Yesterday, Bǎo thankfully came to me with the location of a convenient human city.
Flashback...
[HOST! You won't believe what I found!] It was around sunrise when Bǎo started shouting in my head. Thankfully, it was around the end of my meditation session. Speaking of which, my 10/10 potential was clearly making itself known with my stats.

Qi core level: 2'Bǎo, what is it?' I was curious and hopeful. I hoped he had found a good location to go to. Ever since I figured out the true nature of this cursed town, I had been noticing even more anomalies about the 'people'. First, I started feeling their eyes boring holes in my head when I wasn't looking. The other night, while meditating, I figure out that I was, in fact the only person sleeping at all. The town's people only left the streets two hours before the sunrise, probably to not get caught by me, in case I woke up early. 'Well, that aged like fine wine.' This particular routine set my time to leave in stone.
But my most disturbing discovery by far was what happened at night. Particularly what happened to the unlucky travelers who stumbled upon here at night. Those poor souls would immediately be gagged and imprisoned by the townspeople. The next morning, I would then be introduced to another villager whom I hadn't come across this whole time.
'But this didn't happen to me... why?'
Bǎo's voice snapped me out of my mind and I felt a familiar weight on my lap, which I instinctively started petting. "I'm sorry Bǎo, I wasn't quite paying attention. Could you please repeat that?"
[Host, are you okay?] I heard the worried tone of Bǎo and Jūn started whining on my lap, making me feel guilty. I furrowed my eyebrows, "Don't worry, I'm fine. I knew that I was going to encounter demons or ghosts at some point, but not this soon. It just made it all feel... real." That's right, I never really could accept this as a reality. These past weeks all just felt like a dream to me. But seeing how real danger got the other day, it was a wake up call. This was my reality, I could never go back. I would never get to be with the people I love again. I wonder if Derya also felt like this.
