Toto slammed a hand into Zedus's face, blood gushing over his claws. Zedus growled, whipping his tail around to slam Toto in the side, pushing him into a building. He tried to get up, but his shell had embedded itself deep into the building. As he put his arms back to free himself, Zedus came over and stomped on his chest. Toto fell into the building as it crumbled, Zedus laughing at him. "Ha, what a pathetic guardian you are. Im sure your ancestors are proud of you, little Gamera."

Toto suddenly surged up, ramming his head into Zedus's chest, yelling, "IM NOT LITTLE!" Zedus growled, opening his mouth, and his bladed tongue stabbed Toto in the chest. Toto grabbed the appendage, trying to yank it out, but Zedus pulled it back into his jaws. He dropped to all fours, then ran forward, his large jaws clamping on Toto's arm. Toto roared, "OW, STOP BEING SO MEAN!" Zedus simply lifted him by his arm, tossing him into another building.

Toto fell to the ground, clutching his wounded arm, looking up at Zedus. The kaiju was walking towards him, chuckling. "You'll never be a worthy successor to your kind. And I'm going to make sure you're dead before you can even try to be!" Zedus lunged at him, but Toto smirked, lifted his head, and fired a large blast of fire right into Zedus's gullet. Zedus screamed, hopping back and swinging his head, trying to put out the flames.

Finally, Zedus jumped into the Bay Area, swimming away. But he turned, yelling, "I'll be back to kill you later, Toto." Toto stuck out his tongue. "Make sure to bet the burns out of your mouth till then." Zedus growled, but kept swimming anyway. He'd kill Toto yet.

As Zedus left, Toto let out a huge sigh. Being the guardian of the entire world was so hard! He checked his wound, then turned to leave the city. But as he did, there was a sudden brightness, and a strange fiery looking mist swirling. He covered his eyes till the glow went away, then peeked out through his claws. He gasped.

There was a massive Gamera laying there, about twice his size, with spines on his head and extremely dark colored. He breathed evenly, seeming at peace, and Toto approached cautiously. He tapped his head to make sure he was real, then, frightened, he hid behind a building. As he got up his courage, he looked out, and saw the other Gamera's eyes trained on him. His eyes were orange, and his pupils slitted, but his look seemed to be of curiosity rather than hostility.

He rose to his feet, shaking himself off, then looked at Toto.

Reiwa, seeing the small stature and childish features of this new Gamera, decided to act calm and reassuring as to not scare them. He got on a knee, beckoning the new Gamera. "Come, little one. I bring you no harm or ill will." Toto came out, snorting, puffing his chest. "Im not scared of you! But, I do want to know who you are. And more importantly, where you came from..."

Reiwa chuckled. This little Gamera was quite amusing. "I'm Reiwa Gamera, and I come to you from another world, so I can save yours." Toto stared at him, then crossed his arms. "Yeah, ok, and Im actually a lizard with a large back." Reiwa growled, getting annoyed at this little one's attitude. At his growl, the little Gamera squeaked in alarm, raising his arms to protect himself. Reiwa instantly felt bad, this Gamera's resemblance to human children softening his feelings toward him.

"I apologize, I did not mean to scare you. I promise you this, though, that I am from another universe, and something very bad may fall upon your universe." Toto looked him up and down, narrowing his eyes, then smiling, nodding to him. "Ok, I believe you. But... you seem exhausted. Do you need some rest?" Reiwa was about to say no, but realized how drained he felt. His mana sense told him there was no immediate danger, so he said, "Yes, I do."

Toto grinned. "Great! I can take you to my island, where you can rest and regain your strength." Toto took off, and Reiwa took off as well(though with some difficulty). In a few hours, they reached Toto's island, and when Reiwa landed, he instantly fell asleep. Toto shook his head, then went to his cave on the island, and rested his head down. In a moment, he too fell asleep...

(Two weeks later)

Toto walked around his island, coming to Reiwa. He had been here for two weeks straight, napping on the beach to the island. Toto had spent that time checking on him, and healing his wounds from his scuffle with Zedus. But as he watched him, Reiwa suddenly woke up, quickly getting to his feet, shaking himself off. "Ugh, I feel a lot better." He looked over at Toto, a questioning look on his face.

"How long have I been at rest." Toto laughed. "Ha, you've been knocked out for 2 weeks. I tried getting you up, but you sleep like you're dead." Reiwa looked concerned. "There's... been no kaiju attacks?" Toto looked confused. "How would we know?" Reiwa stared at him. "Can you... not use Mana to sense a disturbance?" Toto raised an eyebrow. "Um, I don't know what you mean. I guess... oh yeah! I know what you mean! Yeah, I don't know how to do that."

Reiwa now looked even more concerned. "Then, how have you been fighting off kaiju?" Toto laughed, holding his belly. "You're funny! I don't need to sense kaiju cause there are none! Well..." Toto's face darkened. "Until a couple weeks ago, before you came here." Reiwa sighed, and took Toto's hand. "Alright, then it's time to teach you." Toto looked surprised. "Right now?!" "Yes, right now."

Reiwa got on a knee, looking Toto in the eye. "I want you to focus. Im going to connect you to me, and I want you to focus on the mana. Let it tell you what you want to know." Toto nodded, and Reiwa began to connect them. Toto gasped, his eyes glowing orange, and looking around. "Woah, I can see everything! Hey, wait a minute..." Toto growled. "Kaiju."

Reiwa nodded, sensing the kaiju as well. "We're needed. You ready to save your world?" Toto stood up, growling, "Yep, born ready!" Reiwa turned, launching off, Toto following.
