School next day
Dawns POV
I couldn't get It out of my head. Slamming on the breaks the car stopped suddenly. Almost missed Mays house... Not good. "Hey. Uh Dawn are you okay?" May asked looking at me. Shaking my head. "Yeah totally!" I replied. May looked at me uncertain and suspiciously. "Ookayy if you say so." May replied still looking at me. I pulled into the parking lot and sat for a few minutes.

Mays POV
Walking over to the others. "Guys somethings wrong with Dawn." I said. I saw the boys walk over but chose not to acknowledge it. "Hey girls where Dawn?" Ash asked when they got over to us. "Here!" Dawn said as she walked up to us. Ringgggg Bell! All of us walked inside and went to homeroom. Dawn immediately sat down and didn't talk. Misty noticed and raised an eyebrow. I shot her a 'I told you' look.

Pauls POV
I watched as Dawn and the girls brought out a volleyball again. I laughed silently as I followed them. I noticed Dawn was deep in thought. May was right there's something. Joining the game I realized Dawn couldn't keep her head in the game. Which is strange for a volleyball player..

~Lunch!~
Dawn's POV
I was heading to the cafeteria for lunch when my phone went off. I answered it.
Dawn:Hello?
???? : Hi Dawn. *sigh* I've missed you so much.
Dawn nearly choked when she heard the voice.
Dawn: D-D-Dad?
The voice it was sober and happy it sounded unrecognizable at first but she could never forget that voice..
????: So.. Listen i wanna see you soon. I want you and your mom back in my life.
Dawn: Uh Yeah ill figure something out...
???? : Bye Dawnie.
Dawn gasped. He called by nickname he gave me....
Dawn: Uh bye.
She hung up and turned around walked outside to the garden. Hopping up in a tree I sat there just thinking.

3rd person POV
"Misty calm down and May stop pacing!" Leaf said looking up from her book. Misty had her mallet out and ready to hit anyone or anything. And May was pacing. The boys walked up and see Misty, May, and Leaf but no Dawn. "Guys where's Dawn?" Ash asked worried and confused. "We don't know!" Leaf said trying to calm Misty down and get May to stop pacing only to get ignored. "May!" Leaf yelled but was still ignored. May went into a anxiety mode. Everyone was shocked when Drew walked over and held May. She slowly came out of it and realizing Drew was still holding her she blushed and turned her head. "Is there any place she could be?" "A fountain? A tree?" May gasped and took off followed by Misty and Leaf. The boys confused followed after them too.

Mays POV
Dawns tree! She always sits in this one tree when she's upset! Staring up at the tree from underneath it I yelled "Dawn. I know your up there. Get down here now!" I heard a groan and then "Fine!" The others caught up to me and looked around confused. Dawn jumped down from the tree and then fixed her skirt and tie.

Mistys POV
"What happened Dawn? " I asked knowing well that something was wrong. She rolled her eyes but I knew her well." Come on guys let's just go to class and hope the day drags on longer than it should." Dawn said walking off. We all looked at her weirdly especially the boys. We all knew what was happening.

End of school
Mays POV
We walked over to the giant fountain where we all meet up at the end of school and saw Dawn on her phone. She hung up and realized we were there. "Oh hey guys." Dawn said. Dawn never opened up. Hmm maybe Paul can change that he seems to like her.....

Dawns POV
"Bye May see you tomorrow! " I said as I dropped May off at her house. She waved and walked inside. Instead of driving home I made a turn and drove to the cafe.

Pauls POV
I was in the library across from the cafe. I watched a car pull in it looked familiar. Is that?...... Whys Dawn here? She got out of the car and went inside. Standing up I called Misty. "Hello? Paul? Why are you calling me?!?" She answered confused. "Why's Dawn at the Cafe?" I asked. She's her best friend. She should know... "What? What do you mean she's at the Cafe?" Misty asked completely confused. "I'm at the bookstore. Across the street she just walked in and sat in a window booth with some man." Misty gasped. "Okay walk over there but don't get seen and find out the name. Got it?" Misty commanded. "Why should I? She's just a troublesome girl." I replied. "Fine then you really don't want to know what's wrong bye!" Misty said and was about to hang up."No! I mean fine I'll find out. Happy?" I replied quickly. "Very." Rolling my eyes I did what she said. "So Uh... Daniel. (A/N I don't know her dad's name so I'm going to call him Daniel.) Why did you come back? And this late? Nows not the best time..." Dawn asked him. So that's his name Daniel. I instantly hated him. "Paul? You still there?" Misty asked. "Huh? Oh yeah. The names Daniel." Misty gasped again. "Go back to the library now! Wait for me I'll be there soon with May and Leaf." Misty said quickly and then hung up. Groaning I walked back to the library and picked up a book. Finally a baby blue car pulled up into the library parking lot. And Misty, May and Leaf got out and ran inside. They found me and walked over. "Okay so whats the big idea?" I asked. The girls looked and each other and I got mad. My patience wearing thin. Misty sat down still keeping an eye on Dawn. "When Dawn was little. Around 7 or 8 her father met an interest with young girls and alcohol. He would hurt her mother and the leave to go to a bar. Dawn would ask her mother if Her dad loved them. Her mother would always reply yes. But knew deep down he did not. He would stagger home drunk or so times not be Home for days. At age 12 he left with a 23 yr old and never came back. They got divorced and Dawn fell into a depression. She had been in and out if mental hospitals and had cut herself many times. Your the only one except us girls and Dawn who knows. She had lost her childhood friend Kenny. He had a illness and he told her before he died that he had loved her. Even we couldn't get her out of it. She's still in it. We think you can get her out of it. You seem to like her. Maybe she has mutual feeling. " Misty said finishing. That's her dad?... And he hurt my Dawn?!?.... Wait my? I wish.... Misty smirked." Whatcha thinking about? " Misty asked. I glared at her. We watched at Dawn looked as she started yelling At Daniel. She walked out with him following her." You lost your chance! You gave up! I've been to hundreds mental hospitals! I have scars mentally and physically! The one guy I like I can't have! Because I have to hide all this! The true me! I act bubbly and happy when inside I'm dying! Kenny died in front of me! And if your wondering? Mom's moved on she has a boyfriend I meet him in an hour!" Dawn yelled showing him wrists then getting her car. Paul just stared. Who did she like? " If your wondering who she likes, its you. " Misty said turning to me." Don't worry she'll be fine."Leaf said. "Who said I was worried?"I asked." Fine then! Don't care! Forget it! "Misty yelled. The librarian shushed." Oh shut it!"Misty said and flipped the librarian off before storming out of the library. Leaf and May glared me." What did I do? "I asked. She shook their heads and walked out of library. The girls got in the car and took off. Sighing I shook my head. And went for a drive.

Dawns POV
Driving home I turned real quick and went to my secret spot where I go to think. Pulling up there I noticed a motorcycle there already. Confused I stepped out. Walking up to the edge of the cliff I stared out at the ocean. "Don't think about jumping. It's just pathetic." A voice said behind me. I instantly recognized it.. Paul. "Excuse me,for your information (1 I come here all the time to think. (2 I wasn't going to jump. (3 If i were to commit suicide it wouldn't be here!"I said turning around and yelling at him. He grew serious." I need to go. " I said not talking to anyone in particular, walking to my car." Dawn wait!" He said. I got in and started the car. A tear slid down my cheek and I wiped it away quickly knowing he saw it. And I drove off. I looked back at Paul and seen his face fall and look sad. I turned around got out. Running up to him I gave him a quick hug. "Sorry." I whispered and pulled back. He looked surprised and then confused. Walking back to my car I waved slightly and drove off.

Paul's POV
Why'd she come back and hug me and say sorry? And what did she mean if she were to commit suicide It wouldn't be here? Sighing I shook my head and went for a drive.

Dawns POV
Why'd I go back?!?! Then hug him?!? God I'm an idiot! I pulled into the driveway and parked my car. I walked inside. "Hey mom." I said closing the door. "Hey sweetie." My mom said from upstairs. "Can you start dinner?" She asked. "Sure!" I yelled back and went into the kitchen.

Dawns POV still
Dinner was done and set out on the table. My mom came downstairs in a beautiful dress. She wore a cream colored spaghetti strap dress with black flats. "Dawn is dinner done?" I nodded and stepped aside so she could see the table. "Wow.." She said. "I'm gonna go change." I said gesturing to my clothes. She nodded. "He should be here in 10 minutes."She said. Nodding I ran upstairs to change. I looked at my phone which was plugged in. 4 Messages. 1 from Misty. I read her message. Hey Dawn. Good luck and call me later we gotta talk. Love, Misty
And one from May
Why Dawn call later! I know what's happening. Don't shut down again. Love, May
And one from Leaf.
Hey Dawn. Don't do this. Not again! Dawn you can't fight thus war alone. Call me later! Love, Leaf.
And one from some unknown number.
Hey it Paul... May, Misty and Leaf insisted I text you... Good luck. And what's Misty, May and Leaf mean you can't fight this alone? Call me later. Paul.
Saving his number to my phone I got up and decided on what to wear. Picking out a blue knee length dress with blue heels. Putting my hair on the side and doing my makeup. I braided a small section of my hair. Content with my look I heard the door ring and my mom get the door. "Hi Jake!" Mom said happily. "Hey Johanna." He said. Choosing this moment to meet him I walked downstairs. "Jake this is my daughter Dawn. Dawn this is Jake." Johanna said. I faked a smile. We went into the dining room and sat down. I picked at my food. They were chatting and not paying attention to me. I had not eaten anything. I picked up my plate and faked a smile. Hiding the plate and making it look like I had eaten it all. "Mhm. Delicious!" I said faking every word. Mom eyed me suspiciously she knew what I was doing. "Are you sure you don't want more honey?"She asked me." Nope big lunch! I'm full." I lied. I didn't eat lunch either. "I'm heading to bed. Nice to meet you Jake." I said standing at the bottom step of the stairs and then walked up and my room. Once inside I quickly changed into a tank top and pajama shorts. Laying down I looked at my phone deciding to text them back.
To Misty:
Hey everything went fine I totally had fun and ate alot!
To May:
Hey I'm fine trust me!
To Leaf
Hey... I'm fine. I'm not fighting any battles and if I were I would do it alone I don't need help!
To Paul
Hey..
I instantly received a reply from Misty
Liar.
I rolled my eyes.
Reply from Leaf.
Why must you do this? See you tommorow!
A few minutes later Paul texted back.
Hey. What's wrong?
Whoever said something was wrong?
Who didn't?

Seriously what's wrong?
Nothing
Will you just tell me?
It's nothing!
Fine. Whatever.
I'm sorry. If I made you mad... Just another person to Hate me.. I texted him and shut phone off. I cried myself to sleep that night.
