Carlos and Maylee:

"Did you hear Kelsey and Brandon hooked up at the party last night?"

"Carmen might be pregnant"

"Dude, Landon and Brittney hooked up in the bathroom. He told me at practice yesterday"

As Maylee looks around her history class, she hears the stories of what her teenage classmates have been up to recently. She never really inserts herself in any of the conversations, simply because she doesn't like any of them. They're all snarky and stuck up. Everyone pretends to be best friends, but they all either hate each other, wanna be each other, or are just plain jealous.

"Class settle down!" Mrs. Simpson yells. Everyone quiets down and puts their attention on her.

"Today is going to be a free day. I have a lot I need to catch up on since I haven't been here the past few days. Just please keep it down and stay in your seats" she finishes her statement and opens the window next to her before she sits down at her desk, grabbing some papers that she needs to grade.

Everyone continues to engage in conversation with each other like before, and Maylee returns to her daydreaming.

"Finally, a day we don't have a pop quiz"

Maylee hears someone say from behind her. She turns around and slightly smiles at this redhead, green-eyed boy. She doesn't quite know what his name is, but she's seen him around school before. She didn't realize he took this class with her either.

"I don't really mind them" Maylee responds, pushing her glasses up.

The boy smiles at her, fiddling with his hands.

"You don't remember me, do you?" the boy asks nervously.

Maylee looks at him for a few seconds then shakes her head

"No, I don-"

"Maylee let's go!"

Maylee's head whips around to the door of the classroom. Her older brother Carlos is standing there with this scared look on his face. His eyebrows are furrowed, and his lips pierced.

"Excuse me, young man. You're not supposed to be in here" Mrs. Simpson says, still sitting in her seat

"Maylee, I'm not gonna tell you again, vamos."

Maylee continues to sit at her desk, waiting for Carlos to say anything else.

"I'm not going to tell you again young man. You are NOT supposed to be in here" Mrs. Simpson starts walking towards Carlos, but Carlos runs up to Maylee and grabs her arm.

"We need to leave hermana, it isn't safe out there. I don't know what's going on, but we need to leave, NOW." Carlos gets out fast, his accent taking over. Maylee could see even more fear in his eyes now than before. She notices, now that he's closer, he has light beads of sweat along his nose and hairline. She decides to listen this time, packing up all her belongings into her backpack.

"You guys aren't going anywhere. I'm going to call the principle if you don't leave and go back to the classroom you're supposed to be in, sir"

"AHHH" Mrs. Simpson was cut off and everyone's head whips around back towards the front of the classroom.

"What was that?" the teacher asks, going to look out the classroom door.

"No, don't!" Carlos yells, but it was too late. Mrs. Simpson opens the door and one of the teachers attacks her. He latches his mouth onto her neck, her piercing screams ringing throughout the classroom and the hallways. Soon enough, her screams turned into groans.
