Fun Facts About Writing Timeless Decisions:
- I didn't plan on writing Timeless Decisions at all; it just sort of happened.
- I struggled with finding a way for Blanc to seek revenge, especially since her daughter is queen and she wouldn't want to destroy something her kids worked hard for.
- It was challenging to incorporate James and Morgian into this story, so I decided to have them kidnapped or spelled to simplify things.
- Zevon wasn't originally meant to be a major character—just a brief side character to keep Morgian from being alone while Red forgot him. But I realized Blanc needed a bigger antagonist, so I made Zevon the villain. According to the original Descendants books(if you believe Google), he actually wanted to overthrow Auradon.
- I almost forgot that Morgian and Red are cousins and nearly paired them together, but thankfully, I remembered before it was too late!
- I never intended for Red and Chloe to break up, but it felt right for the situation. Red was too dependent on Chloe and needed time to grow on her own.
- The Frozen Heart curse was a completely spontaneous idea, like most of the plot twists!
- I found it a bit challenging to write a book without a movie as a guideline, but it was a fun creative exercise.
- At one point, I considered pairing Zevon with Morgian.
- Harry and Elina's brief moments in this book weren't planned; I initially wanted to focus solely on Morgian.
- I struggled with how to save Auradon and break the curse without making it overly complicated.
- I considered having Chloe and Red be affected by the curse and only Blanc saving Auradon, but I preferred the idea of them traveling back together and keeping their memories, especially since Red had just regained hers.
- Chloe wasn't originally supposed to be a bully, but I thought it fit her character, especially considering her similarities to Chad.
- I always wanted a redemption arc for Blanc and to show her growing closer to Red.
- Halfway through writing, I realized I had forgotten to include songs, which is why there are only two in this book.
- I felt like Chloe was let off the hook too easily, which is why I added that ending and left the door open for a possible fourth book in the future.
Thank you all for sticking with the series, and I hope you enjoyed Timeless Decisions!
