I couldn't help but feel badly for Max. Over the past few days I have been bringing home letters from Lauren that get sent through people so Max can't be found.

Each day he reads the letter and puts it in his room, in a drawer that has 14 letters now. One from each day. Max keeps disappearing to take time to himself but today was different.

He put the letter right in the bin after reading it. "Why did you do that" I ask him in a soft tone as I reach into my bin to retrieve the letter. Trying not to throw up as my hand comes in contact with a mystery goop from the bin.

"She is never coming back" Max says before running upstairs and I hear his bedroom door slamming. I sigh softly washing my hands at least three times. I shouldn't but I open the letter..

Bunny,

I know I said I would be home by now but I'm making one last stop. I may have said that last time but this really is the last. Please understand, I'm sorry.

I wonder what this is.. I hadn't heard of a last stop, last I heard she had found the attackers and we are taking them down. I put the letter down and check on Daniel.

Daniel is playing next to Max happily, as usual Max isn't interested but keeps Daniel company. "Hi daddy, I'm a shark who is actually a powice officer  and I can turn into a-a tree Rex" Daniel says excitedly.

"Do you mean a T-Rex sweet pea?" I say with a chuckle. Daniel nods and goes back to what he was doing. "You okay max?" I ask him, he looks at me and gives a small nod. I know he is upset about Lauren but there isn't anything I can do.

"Heyyyy, what you doing?" Zeek asks me kissing my cheek gently. I point at our little crackhead who is running around playing. Zeek laughs and takes a sneaky video.

Max gets up and leaves the room "I'm getting a drink" he says as he walks down stairs but we are both so focused on Daniel I honestly didn't think to ask any questions. When I actually walk down stairs and look in the kitchen Max is nowhere to he found. I assume he has decided to go on one of his little walks and will be home soon. He is never gone for longer than an hour so I'm not worried.

The hour passes and still no sign of him... Zeek has convinced me not to send someone out for him yet. Daniel is asleep on my chest in the living room, zeek rubbing my legs as I lay then across him.

FIVE FUCKING HOURS HAVE PASSED IN TOTAL.

I put Daniel in his portable Crib as I pace the kitchen. Zeek sent someone to look for him as I try to pace out my stress.

"Where could he be zeek, how could I lose my best friends child." I ask nervously. Zeek just let's me pace it out.

"It happens Q, he will be found" Zeke assures me but the demon in my head disagreed. The darker part of me suggesting he is already dead. I take a moment to try and get my thoughts together when the door opens.

Max and Lauren walk in. "Look who I found walking round by himself" She says with a soft smile and an animal cage in her other hand..

I walk towards her slowly, she puts the cage down and let's go of max to give me a hug. "Bitch, don't do that again" I whisper as I choke up a tear. She just chuckles.

Her and max sit on the couch together. He is sat in between her legs as she sits sideways. He leans on her chest and she strokes his hair. I ask what's in the Cage and she opens it to take out a small soft white ball of fluff.

"I-Its a bunny" Max says softly taking it in his arms.

"She is yours. So when you miss me you can play with her and your never alone" Lauren kissed his forehead.

"Fluffy" Max says stroking it's fur. "Thank you mommy" he says softly, leaning into Lauren with the small white bunny in his lap.

I had never seen both of them so quiet and in such a sweet moment. I think the thought of nearly losing her really made Max think.

I take a picture and send it to Lauren. She checks her phone and smiles at me. Max is telling her everything he has been up too. Of course I sent her photos but he has missed her so much so she pretends this is the first time he is hearing it.

"DADDYYYYYYYYYY" Daniel calls out 1,2,3 times before just screaming... I walk upstairs towards the screaming.

"What is it my little gremlin" I ask as he giggles stood up in his crib. I pick him up and rest him on my hip, carrying him downstairs.

"AUNTIE LAUREN" Daniel squeals and she smiles at him.

"Inside voice sweet pea" I remind him gently, he nods and I put him down, he runs up to Lauren and gives her a short hug. It would be longer but Max was getting jealous.

"It's okay Bunny, mommy is all yours" Lauren assures Max as he goes back to telling her everything he has been up too.

I'm so glad she is safe and back with Max.
