The walk to the daycare felt like an eternity as Alex's excitement built with each step. The duffel bag slung over his shoulder was ready for the haul he had planned. His heart raced as he approached the familiar building, its colorful exterior bringing back memories of his visit the previous day. But today was different—today, he was going to take everything he needed to make his weekend truly unforgettable.
The daycare was eerily quiet, as he had expected. After a quick glance around to ensure no one was watching, Alex pulled the spare key from his pocket and unlocked the door. The familiar scent of baby powder and disinfectant greeted him as he stepped inside, and a wave of excitement washed over him. He was in, and the place was all his.
He headed straight for the supply room, where he knew he would find everything he needed. The shelves were packed with items, and Alex's eyes gleamed as he began his careful selection. He started by grabbing a foldable baby play mat, its soft, colorful surface perfect for creating a little play area in his room. It was lightweight and easily fit into his duffel bag, leaving plenty of room for more.
Next, Alex turned his attention to the cloth diapers. He knew exactly what he wanted—the girl ones, with their pink patterns and cutesy designs. He picked out several, smiling at the thought of how they would feel. He added a few packs of baby wipes and a couple of bottles of baby powder to complete the diapering essentials.
He moved on to the baby food, selecting a variety of jars and pouches. He wasn't planning on eating all of it, but just having it around would add to the atmosphere he was trying to create. He also picked up a couple of bottles of formula, knowing they would come in handy for his bottle feeds.
