"Let's begin our meeting," the Storm Hashira stated.
In the room were all five current Hashira, seated in a U-formation.
Leading the meeting was Yamato Kobayashi, the Storm Hashira. He was a tall and thin man with green-black hair reaching his shoulders, tied in a low ponytail. He wore a silver haori over his Demon Slayer uniform, along with round-prescribed eyeglasses over his light brown eyes.
Sitting closest to him was Hisayo Yukimura, the Snow Hashira. She had short, straight silver hair reaching her neck, accompanied by green-emerald eyes. She wore a white haori that turned light blue near the bottom.
Opposite her was the Flame Hashira, Shinjuro Rengoku, with his unruly, unique orange-red hair flaring out around his face. He wore a haori with flame-like ridges.
Beside him was Inori Kunieda, the Star Hashira, a beautiful woman with long, warm yellow hair and sky-blue eyes. She wore an ocean blue haori with red flower patterns.
Finally, sitting in front of her was the youngest current Hashira, Gyomei Himejima.
"It is good to see you all safe and well," Yamato kindly addressed the four Hashira in front of him before turning serious. "Sadly, we lost another Hashira within these three months."
The Water Hashira had been killed not long ago. They didn't know how it happened. His crow wasn't with him, but they suspected it was a Higher Moon Demon.
All four turned to Hisayo, knowing she was engaged to the Water Hashira. "Our condolences," the Hashira said one after another.
Accepting and nodding to their gesture, she decided to stay silent. The memory of the incident was still fresh, and she had to maintain her professionalism as a Hashira.
"Our numbers keep getting lower," Inori said suddenly, her face sad.
"These demons are like bugs. No matter how many we kill, they keep coming and growing stronger," Shinjuro angrily added. "We have been fighting them for thousands of years. When will this hellish nightmare end?"
"We're the only line of defense. True, we have been fighting for this long, but we still exist, which shows our endurance," Gyomei spoke, not allowing any pessimistic thoughts to linger.
"I agree with Gyomei-san. We can't let such thoughts shroud our minds. We have an obligation to the Corps members, both living and dead," Yamato addressed.
"Ubuyashiki-sama has his whole trust in us. We can't let a loss lower our morale," the Snow Hashira said with a straight look. Seeing her act strongly despite her loss, the other Hashira decided to drop the conversation out of respect.
"Let's get to the topic of the meeting then," Yamato addressed. "How is everybody's region faring?"
"I have the usual sightings of demons, nothing abnormal that my team of Demon Slayers can't handle," Inori started first. "I am helping instead with Hisayo's area along with the Water Hashira's previous area."
Hisayo continued, "My area is having lots of demon sightings. Some strong demons are appearing which my members can't handle, so I have to deal with it myself and with the help of Inori-san."
"I understand. We are already covering more than our areas, with just five of us covering nine regions," Yamato commented.
"Plus, don't forget, the quality of Slayers these days is pathetic. They can't handle fighting a demon alone. My area has had twenty-one casualties in just three months. I also have to act and interfere to deal with issues," Rengoku complained.
"Honestly, what are the cultivators even teaching the new slayers? We must investigate because this is unacceptable. We can't keep leaving our posts to help others and be everywhere," Hisayo added.
